Just curious what size Fiskars Stamp Press most people use?
The big version seems awfully big and the smaller version a tad too small, so I was looking for some feedback on what size people find themselves using the most.
Check out Kristina Werner's site. She's one of my fav bloggers and uses hers all the time. I'm not sure what size it is because I never paid attention since I'm an SU! demo and don't buy non SU! stuff, for the most part. She stamps a lot since it's her job so I'd say whatever size she uses regularly would be what you'd want.

I have just the bigger one. For me it was a question of economics, I couldn't afford both so figured the bigger one would be more practical since I was only buying one.
I have the smaller one. Funny you should post this, because mine had been gathering dust for quite a while until I recently pulled it out to try with a recalcitrant stamp. I couldn't get a clean, complete image and it wasn't a stamp that worked well turned on it's back with the CS pressed on top, so I gave the stamp press a try and it worked very well.
I guess this is no help to you, since I can't tell you which one to buy. And I can't say I've used mine a lot, but probably will start to use it more now that I've remembered how useful it can be. I agree with Sarah, check out Kristina Werner. She uses it constantly in the videos I've seen.

I have both! I bought the small one with a coupon and liked it so well I bought the bigger one. Let me pull them out....
The big one is more heavily constructed - it has a second acrylic plate attached over the gridded area - I assume to keep it rigid over a larger expanse. It has a 5x7" grid with about 3/4" clearance from the grid to the foam feet. The small one is 3x5" with about 1/4" clearance. The big one works great for background stamps. You need a little room around the stamp to be able to ink it up easily. Which one to get depends on the size of stamps you are going to use.
They are really great for mass production. I did my first swap about two months ago - 40 each of two images. I put a dab of Dotto on scratch paper to hold my CS, marked the corners of my CS on the scratch paper, stamped using the press, and when I liked the placement, without moving the press, pencilled around its 4 corners on the scratch paper. I was done lickety-split with very little waste - and I often struggle with getting clean stamped images.
My main complaint is it isn't easy to clean the stamps using my SU stamp scrubber - the feet get in the way. I can do it with the big one by lifting the scrubber from underneath and rubbing, but it is a no go in the small one. So I usually just use a baby wipe or an old damp washcloth.
I store them standing up on edge - the small one fits just inside the big one's feet. HTH

Just to clarify - the 5x7 and 3x5 is the size of the gridded area for stamp placement. They are both substantially bigger than that - 11.25" x 9.25" and 6.25"x 8.25", respectively, allowing space for the foam feet on all 4 sides outside the grid. About 7/8" tall, with foam feet uncompressed. In case you have to figure out where to store it.
I had both. Use the smaller one all the time and gave the large one away to some young girls just stamping. I am able to background stamps on it. I like as I can position my stamp and then apply to my paper.

I just measured, you can fit a 5"x6" stamp, with the 5" width between the two feet on the long side, and the 6" height running top to bottom (if the stamp press is in a landscape orientation). But inking it might not be easy. OK - that even confuses me and I'm looking at it. I will attach a picture.
Here is my SU En Francais stamp on the small press. It is wood mount, but it is the largest one I have at hand so it gives you an idea. It will be a bit tight to ink it on the edges, as the feet stick up farther than the stamp, and you don't want to get ink on the foam feet. This is why I prefer the larger press for background stamps, but I'm a messy stamper, so it might work better for you.
I have both sizes. Haven't used the larger one too often because it is a tight fit on my stamping area. Have 2 small ones - one in my crafting area and one in my workshop bag. Now use the 'Press' with most of my unmounted stamps.

Looks as if I can get away with the smaller one then, I can clean background stamps with baby wipes. I too thought the larger one was too big and awkward to store, etc.
Wonder why stores only have the large 'Press' in stock. I have never seen the smaller on in a brick and mortar store. I think I saw Kristina Werner using the smaller size so found it in stock at an online store so ordered my 2.
I have the bigger one and really like it a lot, it was one of those things I thought "will I really use this?" and I actually do use it. I got the bigger one because I wanted to be able to stamp multiple stamps at once for scenes and backgrounds, etc. But it works fine for smaller stamp too.
Well I bit the bullet and bought one yesterday at Joann's.
What a waste of money it turned out to be. My stamp got stuck to the plate and the feet popped off so after a total of one use, it's unusable. Tomorrow I will call Fiskars.
Very disappointed as this was supposed to be my stop gap while I wait to get my MISTI.
I have both sizes of the stamp press and I have used them and really like them but I got a Misti a few months ago and the Misti is definitely my 'go to' now. I'll keep the stamp presses as backups.
The Misti really does deserve all of the praise that it is getting so if it's within your budget and it's available, I'd recommend the Misti over the stamp presses.

Mzteaze, I'm curious as to how your stamp got stuck to the press? The material that it is made of is the same as acrylic blocks, just thinner? Did the stamp work on other acrylic blocks?

It was a background stamp which is very large. I had coated the stamp with Tack Over and Over to make it a "cling" style stamp. It stuck alright...just a tad too well. It would not come off without shredding the foam.
I had to pour Goo Off to get it apart and off the plate. That part I don't blame on the Stamp Press. However, the plate popped off of the press (I have the larger one). None of the attempts to put it back together made it work. Plus the feet popped off and absolutely would not go back together.
I use Fiskar's large Stamp Press for designing with multiple stamps for larger cards and for designing my own paper. I haven't had trouble with stamps sticking, but I did have trouble with the foam feet on my first Stamp Press. They lost bounce and and just sat there squished. My second has lasted because I now store it feet up and always keep it feet up between uses. The feet can't seem to take continuous pressure. Martha Stewart makes a small stamp press, which I also like. It's feet are much sturdier than Fiskar's but its size limits it.
When I researched for mine (I got the larger one) I was told (and saw on YouTube LO) that the second acrylic plate is removable...the idea is to buy more of them so that you can place a different stamp/s on each one to be ready for stamping....sort of like having multiple blocks; each with a different stamp on it. I have not purchased any additional accessory plates so can't comment on that LOL

I have the smaller one and I'm pleased with it. Works well with all my stamps including my larger background and Prima doll stamps. I know everyone prefers the MISTI and I intend to get one sometime in the future when they aren't so difficult to get. For now though the Fiskars is doing a good job. :-)
I just bought the large plate and. I can't figure out how to get the second plate to stay stuck... I don't know if I'm just doing it wrong, or what. The videos I've watched make it seem like you just pop it in, but mine won't stay in.

Holy Cow! The lightbulb goes off over my head! I never thought to use the press for the few stamps that are too big for my blocks! Thank you for waking me up!!!
