KEEPING CONNECTED is one of the tough challenges for cancer patients. Between the disruption of regular life activities and the demands of treatment, relationships are hard to maintain. It has meant so much to my mom to have people make an effort to keep connected through phone calls, visits, email, and cards especially when she was in the most active time of her treatment!
My challenge to you is to illustrate the idea of keeping connected. You can either connect the elements on your card via doodles, stitching, twine, tape, etc. and/or depict one of the means of connection: snail mail, telephone calls, girlfriend time, etc.
Can't wait to see where the idea of KEEPING CONNECTED takes you!

Challenge Description: Connect one element on your card to another element using doodles, tape, twine, etc AND/OR depict a means of connection such as snail mail, telephone calls, girlfriend time, etc.
UPLOADING INSTRUCTIONS:
1. All Hope You Can Cling To Challenge Entries must be uploaded to the Hope You Can Cling To Gallery, with the specific challenge keyword, no later than November 7th, 2014 at 12:00 Noon Central Time to be eligible for our fabulous prizes! Post a link to your entry in this thread.
2. You may not combine challenges, but you are welcome to create multiple cards for each challenge.
3. Please remember to put in the correct keyword when uploading your image. Copying and pasting the challenge keyword is recommended to avoid typos.
4. Please package all challenge entries with an envelope, protected with a clear plastic bag and mail them to our partner at the UT MD Anderson Cancer Center to benefit patients being treated for breast cancer and their family. We would like for them to receive cards throughout the month of October, but we understand if you'd like to mail all your cards at once.
5. Since these cards will be used by visitors for patients, most should be blank inside, but feel free to send cards with messages of hope for the patients in addition to your challenge cards!

Life fell apart the other day so I wanted to make a card with puzzle pieces from an old GKD set...I stamped the images but changed my mind and used a different image...
Guess I'll use the stamped images for this card!

Haha Angie-it is perfect for my challenge that you were up late stamping. I didn't think to put that in my random facts, but I'm a complete night owl! Susie (susie australia) has lovingly told me to go to bed more than once when I was up late commenting or uploading. My screen name could be stampsintheweehours or uplatestamping!

I was just linking up my challenge on fb and challenged my friends there to reach out and connect with someone today. While I'm hanging out with the challenge today I've got a few people in mind to send cards to or phone. Is there someone out there that you can connect with today?

Well being a faithful letter writer for many years (when my sister lived miles away we would write each other every week. She now lives HERE!!..no more letters), I chose to make a card featuring snail mail. This was fun!
Polly, DH and I had only known each other 3 weeks when I left for college and then in a few months he moved on to his next Navy school and was even farther away. So, most of our relationship took place via letter or weekly phone calls....no email or cell phones back in that day! I'm convinced we grew closer together through being apart!
Gail- great challenge, thanks! I thought that these "bear friends" would fit the bill- upped the cuteness factor with some flowered dp, scalloped borders, and pink herringbone washi tape. I used orange metallic brads to complement my pumpkin background- yet to be carved (but the salted and baked seeds are done!) Here's Bear Friends

No stretch at all Lois, your doodled frame was exactly what I had in mind by connecting elements with doodles and I love the way you connected with your childhood memories too. I feel a connection to you since your name is the same as my mom's!

My scrollwork stencil reminds me we are all connected to this terrible disease in some way.
I am a big fan of snail mail! Otherwise why do we make cards! So I chose to stay connected with a very old stamp set called Feathered Friends. I thought of th mail box image from that set right away! I love this because my mom used to have Hollyhocks planted by our mailbox.
