IC16 - Candles (Inspiration Challenge)
Inspiration Challenge #16 (Don't forget to add IC16 to your keywords please!)
Today's inspiration comes from a display of candles.
Feel free to translate the inspiration item into a card, a scrapbook page, or another project. Be inspired by the colors, layout, theme, or anything else -- this is up to your own interpretation!
Here is my card: Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
I really loved the calming colors. When I saw the green candle I immediately thought of a stamp set I hadn't used in a while. I was inspired to do many things, but since I just finished the VSN tailgate, I didn't have much juice left...yes, I really should be more prepared ;)
Hi Karen! The first thing that came to mind from the photo is 'you light up my life', then I saw your card and wow did that ever fit!
I have a stamp room to clean up from last night's tailgate party and then get ready for tonight so not sure if I'll get to this today but I will get to it this week! Thanks!

No problem...I'm not expecting too many people to have the energy! Hopefully people will find time next week (maybe combine it with next week's early challenges).

Oh oh does this mean I am a hyper-dyper cuz I couldn't wait until I could do this challenge after I saw your post at 2 a.m. last night. This morning my hubby saw me at my stamping table and asked if VSN had started already, lol. Heres my warming up for VSN tonight card:
Thought I'd warm up for the VSN with this challenge, was hoping to apply to limited supply challenge as well, but it took 22 minutes to complete. I'm too slow. Used the candles tone on tone and added a little sparkle to the theme with a little ribbon.
I saw this thread after Joni commented on this trading card I made last night and thought I should post it here. I do see why she thought it was fitting. Here it is....
Karen, I was going to look for this challenge early, & then I got sucked into... I mean ... well, you know what I mean ... VSN! and so even though I knew you'd posted it, I didn't have a chance to come back & check here. Between Fri & Sat, I did 15 cards... WHEW!!!!!!!!!!!!! Actually, I did one of them today & managed to beat the upload cutoff. I was just too tired last night - went to bed at 2:00 a.m. & was up at 6:30 this morning.
That green candle says Ferns to me. Maybe I'll use that -- have to think on it. But I also see Stippled Stencils in the one on the left -- decisions, decisions...!

Melody - I too was totally VSNing it Saturday night. I had to finish two cards this morning...but I did ALL the challenges (first time for me). What a blast!
Sounds like you need to do two cards for the inspiration challenge ;) Seriously, if you find time, I'd love to see what you come up with!
Melody, I'd love to see what you come up with. Your stuff is awesome. Got mine done this morning, but didn't want to take advantage of the VSN uploads for Sunday. I'll put my on tomorrow.
I just posted last week's challenge - whew! - and I don't have the excuse of VSN like you ladies. Off to my 'rubber room' for the candle inspiration, my goal is to have it uploaded before Friday. Hmmmm, I see dry embossing and watercolor misting......
p.s. Everyone's cards are so talented! And, thank you Roxie for you encouragement.
I have been out of town, and I can't wait to catch up - I look forward to this challenge every week...... it is so fun to see what others come up with!!!!!! Looking forward to submitting something before next Saturday's challenge. ;)
Thanks for the beautiful inspiration. Do I smell something burning??? OH, that's only my brain kicking back into gear - LOL!
