Default low temp glue in high temp glue gun

what could happen if i used low temp glue sticks in a high temp glue gun? would it make an ineffective mess? is it possibly dangerous? thanks!

I haven't tried this, but as its meant to melt to the right consistency at a low temperature, I'm guessing you will get a thin, oozing mess! I don't think the glue gun gets that hot that it could potentially cause a fire, I just think the glue would be too thin to actually work effectively with.

You are sooooo right Shaz. It will just ooze out. It won't stop. It will keep oozing out continuously. This is the experience I had. I kept all the cooled oozes and ended up putting them in my melting pot. Some of my high temps guns will just ooze regardless if its high or low temp. Thank goodness I have a melting pot to remelt the glue globs as I hate to waste. Before I got that, I would put the cooled glue pieces in a baggie and when I needed a bit of glue gun glue, I would take a piece and melt it with the heat gun. It worked so if you're in a pinch you can use it but....

Basically, it'll continue to ooze out of the glue gun.
