Default Thrilled that I had a use for my stamps other than for cards!

I work for a family agency and we just held a parent cafe.

I had spoken up I had little place cards that I had made with inspirational quotes on them from a previous job. Well, the quotes are saved on a flash drive, but were created from an old publisher program i can't download any more. They have cute clip art on them.

The day/night before the cafe was a very long one for me with all the responsibilities I had to get the cafe ready. At the end of the day I had given up on recreating these great table decorations and inspirations.

I was just about to go to bed and thought, "Wait, I have stamps with words like enjoy, you are amazing, live like you mean it, and also great old stamp sets from SU like the SAB set Happy Harmony.

This class had a cafe/coffee theme and I love coffee/tea themed stamps and have plenty. So the backs of the cards I stamped coffee cups, coffee beans, tea cups, coffee pots, etc.

BINGO! These turned out so darn cute. And I got the most wonderful compliment from my supervisor......that I was such a great addition to their team ( new job for me). Who would have thought stamps could get you compliments at your place of work.

I have gotten so much from stamping...new friends, great socializing time, creativity time, relaxation, etc. now it's helped with my job!

I was so thrilled to be using older sets that I love, but tend to sit on the shelf.

Even though it was late and I had to get up early, I got such happiness making these! I will use them again at a spa/self care workshop I'm doing as part of my job for parents in November.

Hooray for stamps and card making! May it live long and prosper.

Allie perhaps you need to take some handmade cards into work to sell. I have a friend who sells a lot of them at work. Good luck at your new jkb Allie.
Blessings

Sounds to me like you have a great job - and a great supervisor! It's not often that you get to hear positive feedback on such a personal level... Great thinking on your part, and I'm glad it was fun for you, too! I agree with Amber - maybe you should take some actual cards to work to sell

I've used a lot of my "stamping" supplies in my work, too, but not stamps. I've been reading the "stamping graveyard" thread and shaking my head over a lot of the items. I'll never get rid of many of them because they come in so darn handy for other things!

I was posting from my IPad and didn't realize this was so long. I'm glad it didn't scare you all away from reading it. Thanks for the idea about selling some cards at work, Amber.

Happy stamping,everyone!
