Anybody who knows me, knows I am almost as passionate about writing as I am about card making. I love everything that has to do with self-expression and although very geeky, I value real paper, pen, and ink! This week I'd like to share my passion with you through my Pinterest Board on The Art of Journaling. Believe it or not, I have pinned over 300 images dedicated to the subject; books as art, smash journals, travel journals, art & sketch journals, original handwritten pages from diaries, color inspirations, pens, writing prompts, and of course BEAUTIFUL handmade journals of which a few of them are my very own creations. I am sure you will find many card design inspirations in this weeks site! To kick off your creative spirit, I've uploaded a card, and a mini-journal, I hope you are inspired by them too!
Challenge Goals: Don't be tempted to upload a card that you have made prior to this challenge, just because an image on the board reminds you of it. Rather, take the challenge of allowing your creative juices to flow based on your impressions when you look through the images. Remember, it can just be the color palette or style that ignites your creativity. Whatever draws you to the designs, take the challenge of doing something uniquely inspired today .
Please remember that all inspiration links should be inspired by images from the The Art of Journaling board.
If you are unfamiliar with how to grab the hyperlinks from a Pinterest Board, here is a helpful video:
Use the keyword: IC445 (no spaces or extra characters) when you upload your card, and make sure you put commas between your key words.
For those of you who say you get overwhelmed with having too many images to choose from, I've uploaded five of my favorites (plus one that I found worth a smile!) so just stick with one (or all) of those for your inspiration. Click on the images below to see them bigger. Please let us know which photo served as your inspiration piece please.
How to Play ~ View the attached images. You may be inspired to recreate the pieces ~ but that isn't necessary ... get your inspiration from the colors, layout, style or 'theme'. Just enjoy wherever your inspired creative journey takes you. Remember, if you are inspired by the creation of another artist, please do not use print-outs of the art in your creation or directly copy their work. Make the inspiration piece your own. Don't worry ~ no card is 'wrong' and there is no time limit for uploading your card for the challenge. There are no rules, so let your creative juices run wild ~ be *inspired* and go get stamping!
Don't forget about No Upload Sunday - Let's give the gallery moderators a day off and not upload on Sunday (unless, of course, you are a Fan Club member - yet another reason to spend a little money on your favorite site). Also, remember to link to your SCS gallery on this thread. Thank you for joining me on this inspiration journey.
What an awesome site! There was so much inspiration there, I might have to got back! Here's my card.

What a wonderful and fascinating board, Audrie. Like your rainy day one, I could make cards from this all day if only I had the time! I loved some of the bird and beach-themed ones.
For starters, because I rescued these leaves from oblivion on my desk last night and they were waiting for me this morning, here's IC445 Falling Leaves
Loved your pinterest page Audrie! So many I'd love to capture on paper, but with family coming for Father's Day I had to cut it short. Thanks for a LOT of inspiration!!!

I couldn't get a good picture of this, even though I tried - I really tried!! but it is done in browns, with bronze and silver heating powder. This is what inspired me.

Audrie you have such a fabulous Pinterest site!! I love all the boards..did some repining from your journal board this morning! I did an ATC today..here it is!
audrie- awesome site! Inspired by the cartoon type drawings and earthy colors of the Pottery Barn Journal- used a "new to me" Pooh Cake stamp from ANM for my mini journal, along with some embossing and sewing. Here's my Pooh Birthday Journal

Another awesome challenge, Audrie! Love all your beautiful journal choices. I love what I refer to as "Artsy" images, but don't have a clue where to start. Having inspiration pieces like these are perfect for CASEing. Here is my Thinking of Art
P.S.: I think of Art a lot - Art is the name of one of my brothers.

I'm back . I told you it was like your Rainy Day board, I could have made cards for ever from that and I've only scratched the surface of this board too.
Audrie- had to do another one- I was inspired by this lovely watercolored journal with its restful green and lovely red hues. I just love compact spiral notebooks for jotting down thoughts- so I decorated this one with 3 images- Pooh and Eeyore. Added a hexagon-honeycomb inspired Bee duo panel as Pooh is watching the bees- and finished with a double washi tape border. Here's Bee Happy Notebook

Audrie, thank you so very much for introducing us to your Pinterest Journal board. Oh my goodness, I spent so much time there, and found so many beautiful images and lots of inspiration.
Please forgive me for being such a geek - but I just had to share how cool Pinterest looks filling my iMac screen! Med-level resolution (the highest is just too small for me)!
