Can you believe this is our 6th year of Scrappin' Goal Challenge?! We sure completed an AWESOME number of pages together in 2009 through 2013 and I'm looking forward to MORE Scrap pages together in 2014! Let's keep scrappin'.
It was SO fun to chat about and see everyone's pages, goals and ideas for completing LOTS of scrapbook pages in 2014! Many had a common theme - get more pages done, use what's in our stash, meet new scrapping friends, plan time/crops...
What fun we'll have sharing ideas, cheering success, keeping the motivation and making new friends. Our scrap goal isn't all about getting pages done, it's also about enjoying the process! Please feel free to join at any time!
Here's the CHALLENGE. Each person can share their page goals, pages and ideas. for those of use who like Annual Goals, we will have a better shot at meeting our yearly goal if we break it down by month.
*In this thread, we track our monthly goals. We find it helps us keep getting pages done which is good for all of us.
You choose your own scrapbook page goal and monthly spend goal. You may select 2, 3, 5, 50 pages....you choose. The idea is to be flexible so if you know you're going to be really busy, you can reduce the number one month or if you're going to a couple crops or scrap weekends, up the number. This also works for the budget. Each month, you can change your goals depending on your calendar!
The whole goal of the challenge is to get lots of pages done all the while enjoying sharing with Virtual Friends.
Are you UP for the CHALLENGE? Come and Play in the 2014 Scrapbook Challenge! Here's to Meeting our Scrapping Goals & Meeting New Friends!
We'd love to "oohh" and "aahh" over your pages so please post with key word "sbc14jun"

I made my goal by some last month, so I am in for another page per day for June. I have been working on a dozen pages for the Middleton Plantation and I am almost done with them, and they will count for June-so I will get a head start. If all goes well and the creek don't rise, we will be off on our adventure within the next couple of weeks. I think internet will be spotty at best-by I will check in and keep my pages counted!

Yes, wow "Hello June" .... I can't believe we're already half way through 2014. I've had a good scrappy year so far. I too finished 18 pages last month at a crop I fit in that I haven't posted yet so I'm off to a big start for June. If I get some scrappin' done this week (I'm still on vacation) I'll have already met my goal I set for the year and I'm headed for another crop at the end of the month. I thought I'd do less pages this year as it seemed busy...busy but I guess all the snow this winter made for Scrappy MOJO :o

I did 12 pages in May, mainly due to VSBN! Anyway that puts me to 40 of my goal of 60. So I will set my goal for 5 this month. I updated my signature.
Happy scrapping!
She had a great time with us...we went to TGI Friday's for lunch and the hostess made a comment to her about her pretty horse and Hope piped right up that it was for her birthday. Later all the waitresses brought her an ice cream sundae and sang to her. She was SO surprised (just like we were ) Then we went to a clothing boutique and bought her maxi dress, flip flops, and white shirt. Her mom said that's all she wanted to wear the whole next week! LOL

Have a good day today!
Great pages. My fave is the baseball one with how it "pops". Good to see you scrapping.
I completed 18 layouts in May, which puts me at 65 YTD. Really happy about that! Lela, please put me down for 10 in June. I have vacation this week and may have some major life changes coming, so I think I'll be lucky to get 10 layout done this month!

So May was productive for me. I start June with a ytd of 49. I'm afraid to shoot for as many as I did in May, but will set my goal instead at 12 for June.

We're adding and updating the Scrap Challenges this month! For the Summer, we're going to post all of the challenges the first week of each month (June, July and August) so you have all month to play along
We have several updated challenges and some new ones The first new one posted today
Have any of you played with a SMASHbook? I think I have just been bitten by the bug! My only problem is that most of my old scrapbook supplies are gone-
I think I will be keeping a SMASHbook for this summer's adventure.

What will you be doing in your SMASH book Valerie? Do you keep notes and memorabilia and photos? Is it instead of traditional scrapbook pages, or will this be a means to add to the traditional ones?

I got one for each of my girls, and they use them for stubs and memories from ticketed events. My youngest daughter scrapbooks (12x12 paper format) on a regular basis and gifts them to her bffs.
Can you print out digital tags and accents (if you don't want to buy new supplies)???
They are fun!

I think I will put the best pics in it with journaling and memorabilia. I would also like to make one for recipes. It will be a fun way to use some ink and play with paper! I can still make digi pages and a book of our trip, but this will be another aspect that will be fun. I have a silhouette and I plan to get some things cut out before we go, if I don't, I just might haul it along with us!
I already have ideas for the first 3 pages, I just have to clear off some space to play! That and get the trailer ready- we decided we need curtains so I need to get those done, and we have to get everything in it so we can figure out where we want to install the hooks so we can tie everything down while we ride down the road. Lots to do, and I hope we can leave next Wed. I want to go through Mount Airy- Mayberry on our way to Pittsburgh-it is kind of on the way!

I've done a couple and have another one here to start when I have a specific idea. I love your idea to add recipes and other such trivia and fun momentos from your summer trip
I did one for my Mom on her Retirement and added all sorts of pages on what was going on during that month, news clipping of company, letters from the CEO and her boss to her, pictures of her party. She was in food service so they did a survey of favorite foods she did and I did add recipes. Business cards of her Vendors & some wrote notes
It was fun.

Sounds great. I have never understood what a smash book was though. When they first came out I got excited about them. But what I came to the conclusion of ( probably wrong) was they were the pre scrapbook, so you do double the work. So can you explain difference to me?

Sharon, I didn't really catch on to the idea at first either but after I did the one for my Mom and it was specifically about an "event" or time period, I liked it for that. It was quick and fun and it came out nice. I needed an idea that I could mail the pages for people to write on and take the book different places. My Mom has it out so it's a nice size and I could finish it rather quickly.
I love Val's ideas about recipes and stuff for her Summer one. I may do one for my DH who was mentioning that everyone in the family has a "scrapbook" of their own but him. I think it would be fun to see if I could get his Mom to write up favorite recipes of his (on recipe cards) and see if his sisters and brothers would write notes and send picts. I could also have our kids do a page, add some picts and some other little memorabilia maybe from his work stuff.
I thought at first they were more for the "younger" scrappers because they like to doodle, write/journal, and add little items (receipts, ticket stubs, notes) etc ... but I did like how my Mom's event book came out

It seems like they meet art journal and scrapbook about half way. I have seen some that have been done just like scrapbooks, and others that are more art journal in style. It will be interesting to see which way I go. I ordered a few pics from Walgreens so I might get a page started today.
I don't like how much space 12x12 scrapbooks take up and how much room the supplies occupied. And it seemed like 8x8 was just too small. I also don't like digital pages printed out like photos, I only like the way the pages look when they are printed in a book and I have printed those in 11x11 and I plan to try the 10x10 size.
The Smash books I have right now are 7 3/4 x 10 1/4 so about the right size to take somewhere and a great size for a book shelf. I saw one that put the photos taped one on top of another so they can be flipped up on the page-that seemed like a good idea, too.
I have also looked around and seen that nearly all the scrapbooking companies have a version, some are 3 ring binders and others are spiral bound. It seems like during my break from the scrapbook world, they came out with exactly what I wanted! We will see, I seem to always go full steam ahead and then change direction! I am still making digi pages, I have a ton to finish!

And here's another new challenge coming your way: the very first A Picture Is Worth 1000 Words challenge is posted! Can't wait to see how you ladies have fun with it.
I have updated my signature with my goals and accomplishments and just uploaded my first June page. I have lofty goals to participate in some challenges and scrap something besides the weekly pages...but of course we'll see how things go, haha!
I have a smash book and I made it all about me! I have early school pics, report cards, etc. I have a section all about my nursing career and a section all about my RA. It was real fun to do.

This week you will find me in St. Louis hanging out with the Sugar Baby. Yesterday was her momma's birthday and I came to give her a birthday break. We made her favorite cupcakes, cleaned her kitchen, made her a pretty birthday card and had some awesome grandma time, all while daddy took momma out for a much needed break of date, lunch and movie. I feel so blessed...
Thanks for the gracious comment about my zentangle layout Valerie, much appreciated. I really haven't done much, learned of it a while back and did a half dozen ATC sized ones. This is the first big one I've done. But, it really isn't "big", it's just a lot of little spaces and I filled them. I worked on it a while last night then finished it up this morning. It really went quickly. I just filled in space - it is so relaxing and fun. My advise to anyone who wants to do it is - just do it, little spaces at a time.

Yesterday I started a ScrapRoom re-organization project (I signed up for a class) and while I'm just starting I think it's going to be good. The first step was to "box up" the problem areas so you could start with a fresh perspective so I boxed ALOT, LOL. I also played along with VSN.
Today, after some school stuff, I hope to Scrap!
Happy Sunday

Humm, sounds like something I might want to give a try... Thanks Lela for mentioning this tip. Good luck, keep us posted with the progress.
Well...first week accomplished. Any "hot spots" that need re-org I boxed up. It was a WAY bigger project than I expected but I'm thrilled with the start and not even done. I had "memorabilia" in all sorts of containers and in several places. I pulled all of it out and it's now in a BIG box for when I get to that organization segment. I think getting that organized will help me scrap older pictures I keep hesitating to finish. For me a lot of this is going to be moving supplies around for better "flow and function". I hope to have all like craft supplies in one area, most used tools and supplies closest to the desk
I have 2 large boxes of "stuff" I'm donating or selling as I realized from the process that since I couldn't readily identify where I wanted it, I probably didn't need it. I also got rid of a "shelf" of magazines and Idea Books and I'm down to 1 shelf only. Not sure why I save all those, I rarely pull them out, LOL. I'm sure I'll rethink that when that week comes up
