TLC484 ~ Fill the Background With Border Diecuts ~ (6/02/14)
Hello everyone!!! It's my turn to host this weeks TLC Challenge and boy, have I got a fun one for you!!! How many of you have lots of card stock and dp scraps stuffed in drawers and boxes....that's a silly question to ask a paper crafter, isn't it...LOL!! Well, get out those scraps and your scalloped border dies or punches and get ready to *Fill the background with border diecuts*!!
Here are the deets:
1. Use one or more border dies or border punches to cut several decorative borders.
You can use cardstock or patterned paper.
You can use one color or several different colors.
You can use only one scallop border die or several different ones.
2. Overlap the diecuts on you background so you don't see any of the background (You can use them horizontally, vertically, or at an angle)
3. After you are satisfied with your design, adhere the diecuts to the background.
A little tip: Add a couple pieces of double sided tape to the background before you lay out your borders...if you glue them down before you figure out your design, it's too late to change your mind or fix one that is a little crooked. When you are finished playing with it, lift the edges of each diecut and add a little glue.
My Sample:
Yummy Birthday

Fun and creative idea, Joan. I don't know if my die is strictly a border one, but it did create a good bg. Thanks.
CHEVRON THANK YOU

TLC484 Bordered Poppy
I'd still like to try mixing and matching borders...maybe later in the week. It's a holiday here today and we're having our big Sunday dinner for lunch today so I'm about to head off to the kitchen . Having already got a strawberry stain on my image panel the other day, LOL, it's good to get it onto a card and put away safely.

Thanks Joan for a real challenge. I don't own any borders that don't show what is behind them, but I decided to be brave and try anyway. I hope it fits the challenge. Here's my card.

I got to combine this challenge with one from the VSN a week ago. Here is my card using the border die cuts in campfire colors.
