Default SBVC202 - Mix It Up

Sometimes its easy to get stuck in a scrapbooking rut, doing the same things over and over, so my challenge to you is to mix it up and try something different. For example, if you always start with a sketch, try improvising a design. If you make it up as you go along, force yourself to work with a sketch. If youre a clean and simple scrapper, pile on some extra embellishments. If you usually throw everything but the kitchen sink on your layouts, try a minimalist approach. If youre a paper scrapper, create a digital layout. If youre a digi gal, pull out some of those old paper supplies and create a traditional layout. These are just a few ideas on how to mix it up, so please let everyone know how you experimented and what you think about the results!

My sample: not pictured here, but I am working on a whole series of digital layouts, something way out of my comfort zone!

Okay, in addition to digi-scrapping 12 layouts in March (something totally new for me, a die-hard traditional scrapper), I just completed a layout and I didn't use a sketch! Who would have thought it? Yes, the queen of sketches mixed it up by improvising. Here's my result:

Okay, I usually do it as I go, but I do sketches too. I am not sure what to do here.
I don't have digi software, so can't do that. Besides I have tried it and it is horrible for me!
I am too electronically challenged! Nothing works for me, the dragging any of it!
So, I guess the most difficult for me is the sketches. For example I tried your sketch and the photos aren't the right size or shape! So, I will go pick out a sketch. Be back

Sharon, don't let this stress you out too much! Here are some more suggestions. If you are a patterned paper lover, another way to mix it up is to use only cardstock. Or try a technique you haven't used before; there are lots of them listed in the tutorials section here on SCS. If you don't tend to write much on your layouts, maybe you can scrap a page with tons of journaling. Multi-photo scrapper? Use only one photo (or vice versa). Let me know if you need more ideas!

I forgot about this, and now that I look at it, I will have to think about what to do- I think I mix it up quite often-ok, that's why I do the challenges, to do things a bit differently.
This time, I really will think about how to do this challenge.

I just might use one of my templates that has elements and try really hard to leave it alone-now that would be a change for me!!

Here is my page for this challenge! I mixed it up by using solid color card stock and no printed paper. Also, I printed the journaling on colored card stock instead of white.
Thank you for the inspiration!

This is one I will have to give some thought too. I am not one to use sketches so that may be the route I take!

Here is the layout I came up with. I did use a sketch which I never do and I combined it with week 2 of the April Stashbusters.

Talking Here's Mine

I have been trying to think what I could do differently to "Mix it up" and I was excited when I came up with an idea. I did page swaps at CTMH Convention last year and they've been sitting in a box, untouched. For whatever reason, I struggle to use the "premade" pages. I decided with a couple alterations, these 2 pages would work for the picts I found ... I also ended up going through a "bag" of left over cut outs and finding some butterflies that would be just what I needed for a finishing touch, whew! Done!

They're Friends

GREAT Challenge Cheryl

Here's my page. I decided to try the "out of the box" technique. I love this technique but always have to find the directions in order to do it since I don't do it very often. I think I've tried it twice in the past 2 or 3 years...only certain photos make it 'pop'! And when I saw this picture I just knew this was the ticket!

Baseball

Thanks for looking!
