You're currently viewing Splitcoaststampers as a GUEST. We pride ourselves on being great hosts, but guests have limited access to some of our incredible artwork, our lively forums and other super cool features of the site! You can join our incredible papercrafting community at NO COST. So what are you waiting for?
Normally I reach for deep, rich, color palettes as a preference. However, this weeks inspiration site focuses on more modern design elements that have clean lines with very muted tones, yet there are loads of texture everywhere, and even some surprising little pops of color here and there. The site name is West Elm. I think I was inspired by the wonderful photography on the site too. I can tell that they put a lot into how they present products. In many cases, I was more inspired by the supporting items that make up the photo - than by the item which is for sale - LOL. I'm hoping you'll find it as interesting as I did, and more importantly as 'inspirational' to your own designs.
I don't have a guest hostess this week so I've created two cards to get your creative juices started!
NOTE: The best way to grab the URL of your inspiration image is to:
1. Click on the image to open it from search, and click the "View Larger" hyperlink text under each picture, then
2. right click on the bigger image and select "Copy" from the commands if you are on a PC. For Mac users, Ctrl-click on the image and select "Copy Image Address" from the commands, then
3. paste that link into the description when you upload your card.
Links will end with "jpg".
Challenge Goals: Don't be tempted to upload a card that you have made prior to this challenge, just because an image on the site reminds you of it. Rather, take the challenge of allowing your creative juices to flow based on your impressions when you look through the images. Remember, it can just be the color palette or style that ignites your creativity. Whatever draws you to the designs, take the challenge of doing something uniquely inspired today .
Please remember that all inspiration links should be inspired by images from West Elm
Use the keyword: IC428 (no spaces or extra characters) when you upload your card, and make sure you put commas between your key words.
For those of you who say you get overwhelmed with having too many images to choose from, I've uploaded five of my favorites … so just stick with one (or all) of those for your inspiration. Click on the images below to see them bigger. Please let us know which photo served as your inspiration piece.
How to Play ~ View the attached images. You may be inspired to recreate the pieces ~ but that isn't necessary ... get your inspiration from the colors, layout, style or 'theme'. Just enjoy wherever your inspired creative journey takes you. Remember, if you are inspired by the creation of another artist, please do not use print-outs of the art in your creation or directly copy their work. Make the inspiration piece your own. Don't worry ~ no card is 'wrong' and there is no time limit for uploading your card for the challenge. There are no rules, so let your creative juices run wild ~ be *inspired* and go get stamping!
Don't forget about No Upload Sunday - Let's give the gallery moderators a day off and not upload on Sunday (unless, of course, you are a Fan Club member - yet another reason to spend a little money on your favorite site). Also, remember to link to your SCS gallery on this thread. Thank you for joining me on this inspiration journey.

Thanks everyone for you wonderful inspirational pieces! I also noticed a few requests for tutorial on how I did the panel with the Penny Black stamp. I will try and add instructions to the description before the day is over! Hugs, Audrie

Thanks for taking us to a terrific site, Audrie! There was sooo much to look at, that it took me a while just to make it through two sub-categories. When I have time I'd like to go back and look at more. I was inspired by a room setting and watercolor art today. Here is my card.
