Your participation in Destination Station is 100% voluntary and not at all required. Just have fun!
This is my story!
1. Well - you all know by now that when I host a Tickle, I'm not a wonderful storyteller like some of the other gals other, so I don't spin an amazing and inspiring yarn, I just pull out some anecdotes of my own
2. So - I was thinking about this being the first Tickle of the year, and even though it's now the end of January, it's still not too late to look forward with hope to what this new year might bring for us. That led me to thinking about lighthouses, and how they are a beacon of hope and safety to those out at sea, especially in bad weather. So I thought it would be fun to have a lighthouse themed challenge
3. When I was growing up, I lived in a seaside village, so lighthouses and the atmospheric sound of the foghorns (no more, alas) were very familiar to me. If I climbed out my bedroom window, I could climb up to the top of a big pine tree in the front garden, and from there I could see the lights from three different lighthouses up and down the coast. It was so peaceful up there at night with the lighthouses flashing, and the lovely smell from the pine tree. It's funny how lighthouses seem to evoke calm and tranquility for so many of us in spite of the fact that their main purpose is all related to bad weather! So I thought it would be fun to have a lighthouse themed challenge - and whether we need a beacon of hope to guide us through a tough patch, or whether we are happy to just sit by the sea and listen to the waves and watch the light, I'm sure we'll all enjoy a trip to the seaside this week.
4: My dad was very talented and made us a lot of toys over the years. I still have a coconut-shell pram with a little wooden hedgehog that he gave me on my 5th birthday. But one of the things he made that I always regret never made it through all the family moves was a wonderful lighthouse bedside light and locker that he made my brother.

Thank you Sabrina for a fun challenge. Eventually this will live with a teapotter...last months tickle has not arrived in the USA yet!!!! ...anyway here is this months tickle card.
I adore lighthouses. My husband and I visit and climb as many as we can. The day markings are always so wonderful.
My card today is a little odd..........but my mind went with it. ha ha I will be leaving on vacation for a week or so and will be taking this card and my address list with me so I can get this in the mail from Myrtle Beach. Yes I know that Jan/Feb isn't beach weather but it's 80 degrees warmer down there then here in Ohio!!! I'm ready for a change. I won't be playing in next week's challenge but will be back home the following week!! If the wifi is working properly at the Wyndham I should be able to comment anyway!!! Great challenge Sabrina.

Thyme began in a Garden. Jeremiah 29:11
I meant to get these photos ready to share yesterday - but when I was unexpectedly called into work, I spent the rest of the day catching up with things  .
The one I most wanted to share is the one of La Rochelle (France) - I've never seen a lighthouse in such a peculiar setting before. I found the photo of the Irish lighthouse when I was looking for the La Rochelle one - we got the ferry to France that year, and I snapped it as we sailed out.
The third one is a Greek one, at the northern tip of the island of Zakynthos.
I'm loving hearing all your lighthouse memories and dreams!!

And I forgot to mention in my story that the inside of the card reads: "Darkness cannot put out the light, It can only make God brighter".

You will notice a glaring light coming from the lighthouse which wasn't intended. I was going to redo the card but I decided both myself and the recipient could live with it. Here is my card.

I was so excited and inspired by the lighthouse theme as I grew up in a seacoast town and as a young girl we would go to the lighthouse park and have picnics and play. I still go there in the warmer months to have lunch, watch the sunset or just sit and enjoy the sound of the gulls and the surf crashing on the rocks. Here is my card, titled, "Lighthouse" aka The Leaning Lighthouse!
