You're currently viewing Splitcoaststampers as a GUEST. We pride ourselves on being great hosts, but guests have limited access to some of our incredible artwork, our lively forums and other super cool features of the site! You can join our incredible papercrafting community at NO COST. So what are you waiting for?
How many times have you started your day with, today is______ s birthday. I wish Id remembered to send a card. Or are you scrambling last minute to just get one made?
With the All Occasion Card Challenge, you can put all that behind you!
Each month around the 20th, well remind you to look at your card recipient list for the coming month.
WHO: Everyone that needs cards for b-days, anniversaries, get well....you know-anything.
WHAT: A way to get those card needs met ahead of time so you aren't scrambling at midnight to finish before next days event...(yeah, I know I've seen you there with me) There is no score keeping here! It's all for you and helping you stay motivated. Just look ahead to coming month and see what you need. then challenge yourself to get them done using our challenges or not. some months you may need 10 b-day cards and the next month none. whatever you need for coming month is what you do. For instance; some months I don't have any events and plan to do cards for the stash that I have trouble making at last minute like get well and sympathy cards.
WHY:To relieve stress! This way youll have cards for all your events made ahead!! We all know how busy life can be, so why not try to get your cards all done by the end of current month instead of night before! Remember, the whole idea behind this challenge is to make your life easier. we can all use that, right?
WHERE: First upload to your gallery then post a link in the designated thread. Please use AOCC13 in the Title or Keyword so that others can search for your cards! Please use only the thread that I start for each month or you might be missed, and we want y'all to get plenty of lovin for being such good overachievers.
To attach a link here, when the page you want us to go see is open, go to the address bar and 'copy the whole thing' then go to where you want it seen and paste it in the post box. If you need instructions for this check the attached PDF file drawn up by Vikki or PM me for further assistance.
WHEN: The whole month! There is no 'deadline' for getting your monthly cards done. This is just a motivational challenge to help you!
HOW: Just post a reply to this thread saying that you want to join and then start creating! Make your cards any way you like. Any tools, toys, gadgets, embellishments, etc...you decide- after all, these are YOUR cards.
Remember: with postal changes, mail may take a bit longer. Mailing within the first week of the month will help insure they have their card in plenty of time to enjoy it. Obviously, if their occasion is within that first week, youll want to mail earlier.
CHALLENGES:
There will be a challenge posted twice a month. You may use the challenge, or not, in your card designs. They are just to get the mojo going. I'll post the 1st of month challenge a few days ahead and will take volunteers for the 2nd one each month to be posted by the 15th. As we get going along, I will have a list of which post # the challenge is in so you won't have to search so long.
POSTING YOUR CARDS:
Because this is a challenge group, it is encouraged that you post a link to your gallery where everyone can leave you LOVINS, in the approprate thread for each month.

Welcome back everyone.....Jan, Sharon, Angie, Nichole.
This is the time to look at all the birthdays and anniversaries that are coming up this month, and get started making cards!
You can go to the February thread to let us know how many cards you will be needing this month. That way we can help keep you accountable

Well I needed two this month but DS2's card is already posted and my friends is posted too, I used the one I did for the challenge you set for the embossed glitter, I will upload the other one tomorrow.
I also had to do the sympathy card extra so I'm already on March cards which is great.
Welcome Jeanne Ann.
It's time to look at our calendars for the beginning of March and get working on those that come in the first week of that month. That way we will get them sent on time.

I only have one for march for jennie our DIL and it's finished and ready to post! I have to work a month in advance on the ones to San Francisco to make sure they arrive on time.
I posted on the March thread that I need 8 birthday cards and 1 wedding card. It's going to be a rush. but I do have a couple of cards in my stash that will be used. The wedding card for March 8 will be the big one!

I have my parents anniversary on the 7th then my dad and my youngest have birthdays toward the end of the month. I have a card class this weekend and will be getting several cards done and that may take care of something! I always have such a hard time with male type cards.
We are close to the end of March. Did everyone get all their birthday and other special occasion cards sent this month? I have one more to give to my walking partner tomorrow. It's time to look at next month and see what is happening in the first week or so. Spring is on it's way (we hope!) and with the warmer weather we may not want to stay inside to make cards, so right now is a good time to create!

Woo hoo Jan, you rock! Getting ahead of our special events is what this challenge is all about! for next month I have 8 birthdays, but I'd better make an extra guy card, as I may need one for my dear friend's twin brother, if he gets invited to her place for a birthday dinner. Did I mention that he is my ex-husband?

Yes, in the early years of my career as a nurse, I worked with a group of gals all around my age. We had a lot of fun together, going to dances, and parties, as well as travelling and camping. grace was one of those nurses, and at one party, she was looking for a date and her brother offered to find her one, if he could come to the party. That was when we met, even though I was already seeing someone else. He's very outgoing, fun and has a big heart. Needless to say, an introvert like me was only able to keep his interest for 16 years of marriage. But we have 3 wonderful kids and 6 marvellous grandchildren.

I have my last birthday tomorrow and I have started thinking about what may be coming up in April. I know I have to come up with something extra special for my DH's birthday on the 18th, how do I outdo the Dr Who Tardis card from last year? I think everyone else may be covered with what I have in my stockpile.

Do you have a picture of the Tardis card you made? I didn't see it in your gallery.
I have finally posted threads for the rest of the year. So if you are getting way ahead of the rest of us, you will have a place to post links to your cards. See post # 2 for links to each separate month.

I have been very negligent as far as encouraging people to have their cards made and sent in time for birthdays, anniversaries, etc. I will try to keep up to date on the monthly threads from now on.

I had written a personal message to yellowrose46 asking about this thread and how to go about joining. I made a card...I couldn't find an actual challenge idea but I had a thank you card to make so I I will post it in October's thread. If I am doing any thing wrong please let me know! Also if someone could write and let me know where the actual challenge? idea can be found each month I would appreciate it.
Peggy, we don't actually have any challenges in this thread. It's just a accountability thing, helping us to take not each month, which cards we are going to need, and to actually get a card sent on time for any celebrations.
I do however post a challenge each Monday in our Stamp to Spend thread, if you are interested in that. The link to that is here: S2S Challenge 2014 by yellowrose46 at Splitcoaststampers
That link is for the first page. On the second and third posts, I have a list of challenges. This week's challenge is to feature one or more leaves on a card/project.

I have posted the 2015 thread (AOCC15) here: AOCC15 by yellowrose46 at Splitcoaststampers
So far, I have only posted threads for the first two months. No need to sign up, or even to participate every month. If you choose to participate any month, just post on the thread for that month how many cards you will need and then when the cards are made, post a link to your card, so we can all show lots of love!
