Thanks for sharing this technique. I don't have an electronic cutting machine, but I think I'll try it with some dies I have. Also, it might work with punched images, too.

I do this too. It works great for making sentiments with the fun foam, but you have to watch what kind of font you use. I also have some silicone baking sheets that I want to try cutting for stamps. I love that my new Zing cuts just about any material I can throw at it.

I have a blog post here where I did this, using Nestie cut shapes. I also found that you can emboss it inside a folder!

Pam- I really love it! The paw is so detailed. I am going to have to try that. I love the Dollar Tree foam for techniques. I am always using it.

Because we have a tutorial in Resources for Die Cut Stamps, there's also a special gallery for cards made with your own die-cut stamps. So if you make anything with a homemade die cut stamp - upload it there to inspire other people ;).

Stampin Up! Gallery: Die Cut Stamps

It was the option many people chose for the TLC "Make Your Own Stamp" last week, and there were some amazing creations.

A technique that has been around forever is to the heat fun foam with your heat tool and then press a stamp into it. Hold the stamp in place for a few seconds (till cool) or the image will not stay impressed into the foam though and I'm not sure if clear stamp would get damaged or not but it works with red rubber or an embossing folder.

It could be used with punched or die cut cut shapes. I would post a pic but cleaned out my pic folders recently and deleted the one I had of doing just this.

Using Dollar Tree Fun Foam to make simple shape stamps........-img_8101.jpg These foam stamps were cut out with Nesties, then embossed in embossing folders. You don't need to heat the foam for these either. I tried it heated and unheated, and it worked fine both ways. You can also either emboss a whole sheet of foam first and then cut, or cut then emboss.

By the way, I also found that when using them for shadow stamping, you get a better first print, and more fading secondary prints, if you wipe over the foam before inking, with a baby wipe!
