Hello everyone!! Did you get to watch the Super Bowl tonight?? I was so impressed with the SeaHawks...wow!!! I really didn't have a favorite going into the game but the SeaHawks really played their hearts out!!! Anyway....are you ready for a little stamping fun??? Well, I have a super fun challenge for you tonight!!!
We are going to make a one layer card with a twist! Don't you just love those *twist* challenges...LOL!!! The twist is *Let's Don't and Say We Did*...to make the one layer card look like it has layers without adding card stock layers!! There are several ways to do this...here are the deets: 1. Mask off a 1 - 1 1/2 inch strip across your card base and sponge ink to fill up the area. Take off the mask and use a piece of masking tape or post-its to cover the sponged area and stamp something big enough to show on the top and bottom of the sponged area. After the ink is dry, remove the masking...it will look like the stamped image is behind the sponged area!! 2. Use washi tape instead of the sponging. Washi tape is an embellie, not card stock so it's not a layer (for our challenge anyway...LOL!!) 3. Sponge area inside a die and then stamp your image over it...it will look like a background layer. 4. Use stencils to sponge, spray, or use paste to create a layered look. 5. Use embossing folders to add a little dimension or to create a frame around your image. 6. Be creative and have fun!!!
Joan I had a great time with this until I stamped the text! :( Here's my card.

Oh - I LOVE this too. A few times I've had great fun making sketches into one layer cards with masking and sponging.
Boo, I've lost my low-tack quilting tape, and 3 tidies of my desk hasn't turned it up it.
And boo again, Monday is housework day so I'll be late, but you can for sure count me in on this, Joan.
What a fun idea for the challenge...TY Joan...enjoyed it so, and it was a guy card I made...whew...lol...they are so hard for me...usually...;0).Here is my..... A Woodsy Birthday

Joan- great challenge, thanks! I used an embossing folder for my panel, then sponged pink ink on top. Colored a blue border around my panel, and inserted it into a cut out window- still one layer!
Here's Embossed Love Note

Joan- just had to do another one- instead of hand cutting my panel, I used a label die- so much easier! Stamped 2 silly snow people and sponged the background. What would we do without our Buddies? Here's Best Buddies

One-layer cards kind of scare me, but I had some fun with this one. Like many folks, I went with a tag for the CAS challenge, but I had decided on the tag before I saw the CAS challenge. Here's my card .
Thanks for the challenge. I don't know why I don't use this more. I think I need to get tape specific for this technique. Here's my attempt at this technique .
Geez, and then I get the keyword wrong. If it doesn't go ahead and show up after I corrected it, I'll re-post here...
GOOD NIGHT!

Here's mine - with two discards waiting to be punched into scraps , though I might be able to redeem one by actually adding a layer ;). MMTPT288 A Rose Birthday
Thanks, Joan - I've had very little gallery time yet this week but I've seen some wonderful cards already.

I made this card for the color challenge and SUO89 challenge. Then Bailmac suggested that it would fit this challenge as well. I'm taking her suggestion and placing it in the TLC gallery as well.
