December 2013 Scrap Pages and Chatter - sbc13dec
Scrappin' Challenge 2013
Can you believe this is our 5th year of Scrappin' Goal Challenge?! We sure completed an AWESOME number of pages together in 2009 through 2012 and I'm looking forward to MORE Scrap pages together in 2013! Let's keep scrappin'.
It was SO fun to chat about and see everyone's pages, goals and ideas for completing LOTS of scrapbook pages in 2013! Many had a common theme - get more pages done, use what's in our stash, meet new scrapping friends, plan time/crops...
What fun we'll have sharing ideas, cheering success, keeping the motivation and making new friends. Our scrap goal isn't all about getting pages done, it's also about enjoying the process! Please feel free to join at any time!
Here's the CHALLENGE. Each person can share their page goals, pages and ideas. for those of use who like Annual Goals, we will have a better shot at meeting our yearly goal if we break it down by month.
*In this thread, we track our monthly goals. We find it helps us keep getting pages done which is good for all of us.
You choose your own scrapbook page goal and monthly spend goal. You may select 2, 3, 5, 50 pages....you choose. The idea is to be flexible so if you know you're going to be really busy, you can reduce the number one month or if you're going to a couple crops or scrap weekends, up the number. This also works for the budget. Each month, you can change your goals depending on your calendar!
The whole goal of the challenge is to get lots of pages done all the while enjoying sharing with Virtual Friends.
Are you UP for the CHALLENGE? Come and Play in the 2013 Scrapbook Challenge! Here's to Meeting our Scrapping Goals & Meeting New Friends!
We'd love to "oohh" and "aahh" over your pages so please post with key word "sbc13dec"

Well, unforeseen circumstances kept me from my page a day challenge but I still did great for me and finished 20 pages in November; a personal best! Right now I'm at 63 for the year and surpassed my yearly goal so I'm not setting one for December. This week is slow but I have decorating and an annual Christmas Cookie Exchange to plan. It's all icing on the cake at this point.
I hope you all had a fabulous Thanksgiving!

Well, I actually met my goal in November for the first time in several months, which is great. Not sure I'm going to reach my yearly goal, but that's OK, because earlier this year I started getting back into some card and project crafting with some friends who were introduced to Stampin' Up, so I've been crafting things besides scrap pages this year.
With Christmas this month, I know I'm going to be busy with so many things, I'll set my goal for 8 pages again, and if I reach my Dec. goal, it will round out my # of pages for the year to 90, which will suit me just fine!
My most important and biggest project for the next week is to gather together all the digi pages that I want to have printed for gifts plus create a calendar for my DGD and get them ordered. I have quite a few credits at Persnickety Prints that I can use.
So, Lela, please put me down for 8 pages!

Woo hoo! I am beyond thrilled with my progress and so thankful for this challenge! It's not often I stick with something an entire year! lol. I've met my goal and a couple of days ago I uploaded NINETY-THREE scrapbook pages to get printed! I can't wait to get them in the mail!
This is a crazy month but I'm trying to participate in a December Daily project for the MDS Design Team so I'll set my goal to 15. (Which is crazy for me - but I'll try!)
Thanks Lela for keeping up with this! I'm already looking forward to next year!

Wow December
It is so fun this time of year to see all the pages we've accomplished. I always feel blessed to be surrounded by great inspiration and wonderful scrap friends. I'm not going to reach my scrap goal this year but its still fun to have one. Just a little crazier Oct and Nov than expected.
I hope for DEC to get 30 pages to get to 200 but my Mojo has been on vacation lately so we'll see

December already?? I have been more than pleased with my personal commitment to scrap this year. I got a bit of a slow start but once I quit all my outside jobs early in the year (even the part time ones) then I was really able to go strong.
I have reached my goal for the year and surpassed it by 50. I was going to only put myself down for 5 this month but I am already just about done with 4 pages, just waiting for paint and glue to dry sooooo....... hhmmm...... ahhhhh...... 8 for December! There are only two weeks in Dec that I can work scrapping (I should be shopping for Christmas) then family starts coming in and the holidays start full force!

I'm going to shoot for 10 this month. I won't finish my 2008 yearbook, but this should put me half way through! And considering I still have the majority of my Christmas shopping to do...should definately be a challenge!
Hope everyone's Thanksgiving was wonderful and full of lots of scrapping moments!

I'm in for 14 this month to reach my annual goal of 100 pages. Since we live in APO-land, we have to get all our Christmas presents mailed off like this week, so it's actually calmer when it gets closer to Christmas!! Still have a lot to do though this week and I should start studying for the comprehensive exam to finish off my masters degree, I have to take that on 13 January.
My other goal is to comment on the rest of the November gallery!

so?
My DH says he is disappointed there are no crafty items on my list for Santa this year. It does seem strange even to me. Maybe I am just at that point? I don't have any tools or Cricut stuff that I'm longing for this year... hmm?
Anyone with fun stamp or scrap wishes?

This is a reproduction of an old family photo that was taken when I was in high school (thats me with my boyfriends letter jacket, wasn't I cool? 8-) )
It brings back a lot of memories of the time when my father was alive.

You can't have a disappointed hubby now, can you? Cricut sounds like a plan....
Only thing I'm hoping to get is a larger HD for my digi-scrapping needs!

Hi all!
I can't believe it is December! Where has the year gone????? Oh my!
Well, I didn't do so hot in November and to meet my goal for the year I need to complete 38 pages this month......Ummmmmmmmmmmmm......oh me!
Well I do have an 8x8 hand made mini album on my craft desk right now that will have 16 pages when I am finished. I hope to be done by the end of the week. So, that will give me a little nudge. LOL
*crossing my fingers!*

Haha, I've enjoyed reading everyone summarizing their goals and how they're doing, and I'm here to do the same!
I still have plenty to catch up on for my 52 week project, but I too printed off a bunch of digi pages last week. The next week or two will be filled with me putting together the calendars I do every Christmas for our parents- and I already loaded this one to the gallery:
Calendar 1
That page uses the family pics we had taken on Thanksgiving, which I cannot wait to get hanging on my wall!! Today I really needed to hit a few stores (groceries and gifts) but its a blizzard out there so I guess I'll just have to scrapbook instead, hahaha....

GRR! haha...I DID spend the afternoon working on a calendar. I did all the monthly date pages and then created this topper....and THEN realized we didn't want to order that many 12x12's, I needed it to be 8x11! SO. Yeay for digital that I didn't waste products, but DANG on the wasted time.
And I'm sharing this page anyway! Maybe I'll print it off for my mom...its my parents whole family.

I've got to finish one up for my 7-year-old niece too. She loves calendars. Guess I better get on it, so I have time for it to arrive!

I've been like that for a few years and DH gets bummed :-). I just have so much that I don't get to use that I don't really want anymore. Also, no new exciting products are being developed so no really 'want' factor. I'm really hoping to update my kitchen and master bath next year so I'd rather save money to go towards that.

Lela, I feel your pain! I already have so much stuff that I am not panting to get anything new this Christmas, but it does feel weird. I love hosting the Stash Busters challenge because it's helping me get rid of the older stuff. Maybe by the time new and exciting stuff comes out, I'll have some room for it. Off to work on tomorrow's Stash Busters challenge. I wonder what stuff I need to get rid of this week . . .

I also want to give a shout out to Sharon (Smadson) for being the only one to complete the three Stash Busters challenges in November! We had three other gals who completed the first two weeks (and did a fantastic job on their layouts), but only Sharon posted her final layout, so kudos to you, girl!

Running a little late getting checked in and started here... :(
Because of my overwhelming work load this past year, I had forgotten what it was like to just be able to stop and breath! I have been able to walk the hundred steps out my front door and spent time on the beach.... , I have been able to enjoy time in my stamp closet and not feeling pressured or hurried... , I have been able to enjoy the family time that a mother is suppose to be able to enjoy.... , I have been able to get back into the catering thing, which I love, bringing smiles to people faces through my food... , I have been able to find myself and I discovered I have really missed me!
Anyway, I did reach my Nov. goal which was 10, that puts me at 52 for the year. My goal for Dec. will be 8. That will help me reach my yearly goal of 60... Woot woot!
Every Monday, I post a new uplifting quote or thought on my fridge, for all who pass by to see...
And being it the Christmas season I thought I would share this month's thoughts with all of you as my way of saying "Merry Christmas and thank you for being here for me", I love all my imaginary friends, whether I have actually met you or not... I hope your holiday season is filled with love, hope and good cheer!
Here is this week's thought...
"Just because we are not aware of Christ's capacity to carry us does not mean that He does not do so. The story is told of a little girl who wanted to help her mother bring groceries in from the car, but she was too small. She finally set her sights on the milk jug and decided she was going to carry it 'all by herself.' She couldn't, so finally Mom picked up the little girl and the milk and headed into the kitchen. The girl proudly declared to her father, 'Look! I'm carrying the milk all by myself!'all the while being held securely in her mother's arms. As we make changes in our lives it is not by our own power that we succeed. We are not doing it 'all by ourselves.' Recognized and unrecognized, God and Christ are there, every step of the way."
Merry Christmas Everybody!

Does anyone know what the size limit is on uploading files? I haven't had any issues with the new uploading system, until today...I couldn't load the page with the others, and I can't do it separately. I also can't find any info on it, under the Help section in the top corner, so I thought I'd start by asking here...
Aside from that, here is the June page for my inlaws and the October page for my parents calendars!

Sorry I can't help you Tanya. I have never had a problem but I re size all my photos before I upload. And don't ask how I do it because I change one of the numbers in my editing program on re sizing and it takes care of it all.

I don't know the kb limit, I usually do mine as 600 px x 600 px and keep the file size under 600 kb.
I know another gal had a problem like yours a month or so ago, but I don't know what she wound up doing.
