The Rest of the Story:
1: In many cultures the butterfly is seen as a symbol of change, growth, transition, resurrection, elegance, grace, and surrender among others; as well as a symbol of beauty. This unwavering acceptance of her metamorphosis is also symbolic of faith. Here the butterfly beckons us to keep our faith as we undergo transitions in our lives. She understands that our toiling, fretting and anger are useless against the turning tides of nature and asks us to recognize the same.
2: Some people believe that butterflies also are like bees in that they prefer certain colors of flowers. Blue is one of the most often quoted favorite color of many species of butterflies and planting blue flowers should draw more numerous groups of them for your viewing pleasure. I'm not sure if this is true or not but what can we lose? I say, lets all plant some blues and see how many butterflies we can entice to join the gallery this week.
Challenge Translation:
Bring flowers in all shades of blue. Bring large ones, small ones and medium sized ones too. Bring words of encouragement or sympathy and thoughts to soothe.
