Arrow IC415 ~ Nunu's House {11-16-13}

This week I'm sharing a bit more about why I enjoy the inspiration challenge so much: 1. Because it challenges me to look at things (other than cards) as inspiration. I firmly believe that inspiration is anywhere and everywhere around us! and 2. Because it gets me out of my comfort zone and encourages me to try new techniques and pull out stamps of all ages in my crafting space. Because of this, sometimes I give myself the extra challenge of an inspiration site with a twist..... so this week there is a twist for you too! I hope you will enjoy it!

The site I have selected is Nunu's House Blog . I have always LOVED miniatures and dollhouses. I have three dollhouses, one 1/144 scale (very tiny - the whole house can fit in your hand), one room box, and one full size dollhouse 1/12 scale. There is something very special, and freeing, about decorating a dollhouse - and yes, it brings out the creativity in me. So, my all time favorite pages on her site are the pages about La Cachette (French for the hiding place or nook) which is a miniature restaurant that she creates from scratch (walls and everything)! Here are a few images of this miniature work of art:
"La Cachette"

ALERT: I just found out that after you upload you may experience broken links when SCS translates and shortens the URLs for display (due to multiple periods in the links for the JPG images). In certain browsers people will get "Page not found" messages. To get around this problem, provide a link to the blog for that day - by clicking on the dark asian text in the Blog Title area above the selected image - then use that URL (rather than the one ending in JPG for the photo). If the hyperlinks end in HTML then they won't break in any of the browsers. I apologize for not knowing this in advance. Please remember you also have the attachment images (below) that can inspire you - I've added extras this week.

Here's the twist for this week - two extra challenges built-in, if you choose to accept this mission - LOL:
1. In your card design try to incorporate the theme of the site - miniature arts - into your card design .

2. Don't be tempted to tag a card previously created just because it reminds you of an image on the site. Take the challenge of creating a brand new card based on the images themselves.

Our Guest Hostess this week is Irene (aka DandI93) . Irene has an amazing gallery with a wide variety of cards. I especially love her CAS designs, as well as the variety of techniques and color palettes she explores! I would encourage you to check it out if you have time. She and I were both very inspired by this blog, and have uploaded a few cards each!

Irene's GORGEOUS Cards are here, and here, and here too!

My Cards are here, and also here too!

YEP, you guessed it - we totally got doubly and triply inspired!

Use the keyword: IC415 (no spaces or extra characters) when you upload your card, and make sure you put commas between your key words.

IC415 Gallery

Due to stampers having issues with creating links, I've uploaded 10 of my favorite pictures from the site below, so that you may reference one of them as your inspiration. Click on the images below to see them bigger. Please let us know which photo (counting from #1 to #10) served as your inspiration piece please.

How to Play ~ View the attached images. You may be inspired to recreate the pieces ~ but that isn't necessary ... get your inspiration from the colors, layout, style or 'theme'. Just enjoy wherever your inspired creative journey takes you. Remember, if you are inspired by the creation of another artist, please do not use print-outs of the art in your creation or directly copy their work. Make the inspiration piece your own. Don't worry ~ no card is 'wrong' and there is no time limit for uploading your card for the challenge. There are no rules, so let your creative juices run wild ~ be *inspired* and go get stamping!

Thank you so much Audrie for asking me to be a guest designer this week. I had so much fun going through all the pages and finding so much inspiration. On the bottom of each page just click the arrow to the right for another page. The miniatures are amazing.. Most of them looked better than the real thing. Even at the last minute I made the fourth card to add to my Christmas stash for this year. I would love to see your doll houses, I can't imagine one that fits in your hand... Very cool.

I can't wait to see what everyone is inspired by this week....

Audrie, it probably is my computer and lack of compatible programs, but your and Irene's links just look like a bunch of gibberish with tiny little photos and not many of those. Too much for me to deal with....see you next week. : (

Thank you SO much, Irene for your encouragement and help in getting me around the chosen site. Obviously, my computer is lacking something everyone else has....or it is probably the user. ; )

These tiny creations are amazing and do inspire awe. I can see why Audrie is so enthralled by them.

Default Doll houses

Me too! I really enjoyed myself trying to think of designs that were inspired by her miniature art! I will attach a couple of dollhouse pictures toward the end of the challenge. They are loads of fun! I have one more card design to post Saturday too!

Thanks for everything,
Audrie

I so agree with you Audrie about the Inspiration Challenge getting me to look at all kinds of things for inspiration. The Inspiration Challenge is by far my favorite SCS challenge. Nunu's House is a fun site to look through -- the detail in those miniatures is unbelievable.

I've got several ideas swirling around in my head , but have a busy weekend with my two grandkids visiting from SC, so probably won't be able to get around to getting a card posted until Monday.

Smile IC415 Bath Basket

Just love these miniatures! I was inspired by the soap gift miniature I used a fabric pajamas waistband for my "towel roll", and a small piece of hard soap, rewrapped with a much smaller outside, and tied with baker's twine. My "bath bomb" is made with mesh, cotton wool, and twine. My "room fragrance" canister is actually a mini perfume sample vial. I put a small spool of thread to give you a size reference. I used a smudge block to prop up my bath items inside a metal dipping sauce cup- with all nested in a strip of lace.

Here's Bath Basket
