Does anyone know where to buy wool felt in the quality that PTI has so that I can use it in die cuts to put on my Christmas cards? I love their felt but can't bring myself to shop there after some very bad experiences.
Tricia
Thank you
I bought a bunch of wool felt years ago but cannot remember from whom. I googled to see if any company 'rang a bell' for me, but I could not be certain.
I have purchased the 100% wool felt assortment packs from the Material Evidence Shop on Etsy in the past. Both the quality of the felt and the service was excellent. I see the shop owner is on vacation right now, but if you need to order right away there are several other etsy sellers offering wool felt as well. Happy shopping! ;)
Thank you
I found a wonderful seller that I am going to order from it looks like it has the denseness that I am looking for. Bear Dancing Crafts in Canada. I am not endorsing this shop since I haven't bought anything there yet.

I ordered some wool felt and wool roving from Bear Dance Crafts last year, and had a great experience with them. The owner even phoned me to let me know that one of the items I had ordered would be backordered for a couple of weeks just in case I wanted to change my mind or have the other items shipped first. She was really friendly and helpful! The wool is great quality, although I would say the felt is thinner than the PTI felt, more like the thickness of felt from My Favorite Things (I have some of their older stuff.) But still good!
I the felt that My Favorite Things sells is die cut friendly (but I'm not sure it's wool felt). They have some awesome colours and great customer service (and all kinds of buttons, inks etc. to match)!
I've never worked with felt and dies before. Does anyone know if the following dies will cut through a piece of felt?
Sizzix sizzlits / decorative strip dies
Sizzix framelits
Spellbinders dies
I know that Sizzix Bigz will cut felt & I'm guessing PTI dies will too, since they sell felt.
I would love to start using felt in my projects, and my thanks to everyone who posted these great felt sources.
I find the key is to use a shim or a metal cutting mat that you can buy. Sizzlets are hit or miss for me cutting anything but paper but Spellbinders work well if they aren't too intricate.
I use a metal cutting mat with all things I cut not just felt and have found that all dies I used..spellbinders, Marianne, Cheery Lynn etc work the same... no problems yet.
Thanks for all the replies! It's amazing that the small edge of the Spellbinders dies cuts through the felt. When I have some crafting $$$ free, I need to get some felt and start experimenting.
I find a wool blend felt works much better than 100% wool. I saw Julie Ebersole do a tutorial on that awhile ago and you get a much crisper cut without the little "hairs" along the cut. I buy all my felt from an Etsy Store, BenzieDesign.
