Default Messy Digital Stamps?

I just bought and printed my first digital stamp. I have been a stamper for a very, very long time, but I just wanted to give a digital image a try. Is it normal to spend 15 to 20 minutes cleaning up a digital stamp before you can use it? The site I got it from is one that I've seen in books and online here and there, so I thought it was safe to buy from, but one of the images I got had so many little bits of stuff from things not being erased totally, or a line that was accidentally erased a little too much and needed filling back in, etc. Maybe I'm a little overly picky, but I was a digital scrapbook designer and we were never allowed to put product in the store like that. lol!

Before I take a chance on others, I just wonder if this is normal.

I've never had to clean up a digi image I've purchased, do you want to say which site you bought it from?

I haven't bought that many digital stamps, but the ones I have bought were all crisp and clear. I don't think it's the norm for them to need to be "cleaned up."

I love digital stamps as much as solid. I do know sometimes an image is refered to as being drawn so it does not have the crisp lines that a vector image has. It can look a little messy if you are looking for crisp image. Maybe you should go back to their site and click on the image in the shop and see what it looks like. Or maybe it corrupted in download, so try downloading again.

As an ex-graphic/digital designer, I recognize they are not part of the image, but bits left behind when something was erased or corrected, etc.

I am so glad to hear this is not a common thing though! Thanks for the responses.

Surely those are not images you have paid for? I would complain if they were. They look to me as though someone has cropped them from a larger picture. I have over 4,000 digital images I have bought and none of them have looked anything like this..

I would go back to the store and tell them the quality isn't up to par. That's really not acceptable. I hope its not one of the reputable designers - although I don't think a reputable or established designer would let that pass through their quality control checks. I'm a digital designer and I know that sometimes small things slip by, but that many issues on one image is sloppy work...

It is one I paid for. I think I will mention it to them. I have bought polymer stamps from them before, and didn't find anything like this, so maybe this is just an older image, or something, but since it is my first digital image, I wanted to make sure this wasn't the norm.

None of the digi stamps I have ever purchased were that messy.

UPDATE: I did contact the artist, and she was very gracious and accommodating. She took care of it!

Glad to hear it. Don't let this put you off digi images from other sites.
