Splitcoaststampers is happy this year to join an Australian partner in addition to MD Anderson for Hope You Can Cling To. Please welcome the Mater Foundation to this great cause!
If you live in Australia and find the postage to send your HYCCT cards to MD Anderson in Houston burdensome, we encourage you to send your cards to Sandy Petit at the address above instead, using the same guidelines for cards and envelopes found here.
Australian participants may choose whichever destination they like!
Many thanks to Edna Morissedie (Edna15) for coordinating this for our crafty friends down under. We love you, Edna!
Oh my, that is awesome! I tried looking closer to home for something similar, and many phone calls and unreplied letters all led to nothing. Now I can split my card package and avoid the hefty $10 surcharge fee for parcel posting to the US.
Thank you so much Edna for following this thru and having success.
Great work Edna and Lydia much appreciated, it's even local for me!!
Cheers
You are almost local to me too! I'm heading into Brisbane tomorrow for an MRI and I was going to drop off my first lot of cards since I'll be just around the corner.
They will be very happy to receive all of your cards ladies!! They had never heard of such a group of ladies willing to send in cards, so it will be a real novelty.... hopefully they get a really nice stash to share around!!
Thanks so much, huge HUGS, Edna!!

that's great. besides saving on the postage it's great that families down under will get some great cards and know that there are people they don't even know who want to support them thru a grueling time in their lives.
This will be my first year joining in with this challenge. I realise this has been going for a few days now but plan on getting started, and catching up, on these challenges for such a great cause. Awesome that we can send them to The Mater Hospital in Brisbane as well.
Plenty of time to catch up Sue, I will look out for your creations!

Wouldn't it be cool if this just kept spreading all over the globe? Canada and Great Britain seem logical...

I just took a minute to click onto your message for the Australian SCSr's. How awesome that you found a local place for the Ausssie cards. Always great to spread the love. Thank you for working that out, Edna.
This is great news!! I joined late in the 2011 one and had one of my best times ever.... It was at a time when my son was in hospital for nearly 3 months.... I loved my creativity and focus away from my stress....
Thanks Edna for organising this.
I have only one card from the challenge, but have 10 I made previously for a pink cancer fund raising luncheon that were not needed on the day. I plan to include these with my one - hope that is OK.
The 10 cards are all thinking of you cards which each attendee received one at her place sitting on the day of the luncheon for her to send before the next fund raising luncheon in 12 months.
Hi Vicki... Sounds perfect to me I am sure they will be very warmly received, thanks so much, Edna!!!

I only managed to make 7 HYCCT cards this year but found I had so many cards sitting here, quite suitable for this cause, I posted 26 cards to the Mater Hospital during October. Have another 10 I will send off tomorrow, too.

Thanks Edna ,for organising Mater Hospital ,i spoke to a lady in a shopping centre recently who was selling Pink Ribbons, she had actually been a breast cancer patient at the Mater. Small world. Cheers
Just to confirm that this arrangement with Chicks in Pink is all set in place for HYCCT2014, thanks very much to all who have sent to this Australian recipient before, they are very much looking forward to your creativity again this year!
As am I!

I'm sorry. Life got in the way and I didn't manage to participate. Hopefully next year :-(
Just came across the thread just now - I'm off to check out the requirements and yep, as I live in outer Brisbane this is perfect.
Thanks for finding an Aussie location for us to give cards too, also great to be able to bring a smile to those in need.
Well done and I look forward to seeing everyone's creations.
