Challenge Title: Sparkling Season
Hostess: hbrown (Holly)
Keyword: HYCCT1330
Date: Wednesday, October 30, 2013
Welcome to the 4th Annual Hope You Can Cling To challenge and card drive! What an uplifting time of the year for cardmakers!
With the holidays fast approaching, I thought it would be fun to have a challenge focused on making holiday cards. In order to make them "Sparkling Season" holiday cards, my requirement is to use glitter on your cards.
So make a Halloween card, a Thanksgiving card, a Christmas card, or even a Valentine's Day card with glitter on it. Bonus points to those who use PINK on their cards!! :-)
Don't freak out about the glitter requirement. You can use so many different things. Regular glitter, chunky glitter, Stickles, glitter cardstock, pre-glittered brads and other embellishments, even your kid's glitter glues all work just fine for this challenge. Just have fun and enjoy the sparkles!
Thank you for playing along! Special thanks to my amazing sample makers and stamping friends, saffivort, mrslaird, va.sunshine, Ksnurse, LuvLee, JBgreendawn, CAKath, LMcAree, and dini! All of the details for sending in your cards and where the galleries are, are below!

I had enormous fun making this AND salvaged a piece of card which had been so over-misted that I thought it was beyond redemption. A win all round - thanks, Holly. Apart from the deer and the letters - and the glitter card - everything else is one less bit of clutter on my desk, LOL.
I finished my card...and tried a new technique...using sticky tape to make lines and dumped Jazzy EP on it (whatever Jazzy EP is...'cause...well...I didn't find any "glitter" in the stamp room other than Stickles and the design I had chosen wouldn't work with Stickles...
This evening someone will take a picture for me so I can upload the card.
Fun morning of play...thanks...

Jazzy EP?? That sounds, well...., jazzy!! ROFL! I can't wait to see it!
Holly- great challenge, Thanks! I had been wanting to do a Thanksgiving card, so I bought this cute turkey stamp from Lawn Fawn this week. Paper pieced the tail feathers, and mounted him on an embossed olive green panel. I added a floral luncheon napkin panel for a little pizazz, and some sparkly gold trim. Finished with a striped ribbon border, accented with dc leaves. Here's Happy Turkey Day

Holly- wanted to do a companion holiday card- went with Stampa Rosa's Fashion Statement (Amanda)- as I think this is such a darling image- kept it simple with a bit of bling and sparkle, and texture with the pine branch. Here's Festive Friends

I've been in the mood for Christmas! So this is great for me. It even snowed a bit here this morning. I normally wouldn't have made this card pink, but I think I like it. Thanks for the fun. Only one more day left...it makes me sad. I have had so much fun doing this this year. This is gonna have to become a tradition for me.
Loose glitter and I get along like oil and water, so I've used glittery cardstock and Stickles to make my card sparkle. HYCCT1330 - Sparkling Rhubarb Santa

You definitely need to play in the Dare To Get Dirty challenges in the summers and these Hope challenges every October. They are SO much fun! I've done the DTGD challenges for three years now and this is my second or third time playing in these Hope challenges. I truly love these two times of the year here at SCS. :-)
Thank you to EVERYONE who has played in our Hope challenges this year. It wouldn't be possible without all of you creating and sharing your cards. :-)
