Challenge Title: I Can't Believe It's Over
Hostess: Understandblue aka Lydia
Keyword: HYCCT1331C
Date: Thursday, October 31st, 2013
Every year when we get to this point, I just keep saying to myself - "I can't believe it's over."
Well just 32 days ago, I was saying the same thing before I watched the season finale of my beloved, beloved favorite TV show - Breaking Bad, created, written and produced by Vince Gilligan.
One of the coolest things about this show was that the writers very subtly wove color theory into the plot of the show. Every item of clothing the characters wore was a symbol of the "team" they were on. If they started to move towards another character's team, their clothing and their environments would change to reflect that - and become a color that was a mix of those two teams.
<dl><dd>"I want to do the color timing for each of these episodes where you sit with the colorist and make sure that the color of each individual scene is just the way you want it." </dd><dd>―Vince Gilligan, IndieWire interview, July 2012</dd></dl>
It was SUCH a cool part of the show for an arty chick like me, so of course it inspired my challenge today.
What I want you to do is create a black and white card, with just a pop of one of the colors listed below - indicating your "team." you do not have to know anything about the show or these characters to play - you just have to pick one of these six colors for your pop.
1) Green (Team Walt)
2) Purple (Team Marie)
3) Brown (Team Hank)
4) Pink (Team Holly)
5) Blue - (Team Skyler)
6) Yellow - (Team Jesse)
I can't wait to see what you do with this! It will be interesting to see which "team" has the most cards!
A little trivia about my samples - the images on my Breaking Bad cards are stamps that I hand carved. The cards were a little gift set that I put in as a first to find prize for a Breaking Bad themed puzzle geocache I placed. If you are a fellow geocacher, we have a forum for that!
Thank you again for joining us, and see the details below for sending in your cards.

I have never watched that show...I don't understand about the teams, I have no idea who those people are.
How do I do this challenge? Just pick a color I like?

I have never watched either but what I am gathering it has to be mostly black/white and a touch of one of the team colors...Like if I wanted to do a touch of pink I would be on team holly...is that right?

Lydia, I can't believe it's almost over either. It has been a busy, fun, fast October. I never heard of that show either, but I like black and white cards with a pop of color. Just have to decide on a color.
Never even heard of this show! Guess I've been living on some other planet. I'm at a Halloween event st church but will get my last 2013 HYCCT card made either later tonight or tomorrow morning. Then off to the Queens thread!

WOW! I can't believe it's coming to an end either. I have so much fun doing these challenges. I don't know anything about the TV show, although picking the colors shouldn't be to hard for me.
After trick or treating I'll be able to create.
Here's my card. Since I was a hostess for a different HYCCT challenge, I had a heads-up on this challenge. I've never watched Breaking Bad, but I was able to combine this challenge with an off-SCS color challenge, LOL!
I chose team Pink, but I would have been more familiar with Team Edward I had fun with this challenge because I love anything black and white! Thanks for the challenge! So sad it's done for the year. Now I have to figure out how to download, copy and paste! I have no clue. Lydia has helped some, but I keep losing my copy.
Here's my card . I can't believe these challenges are over! :(

Reason: wrong link
My husband and I loved watching Breaking Bad and though it was sad to see it end, it ended well. I also can't believe October flew by so fast.
I went with Yellow for Team Jesse =)
Lydia- awesome challenge to end a month of making cards for others
I am team #1 green - my only color other than black and white. I used SU's Wonderful Woodcuts for its medieval quality of its image- added a dc heart panel and some ties. The white portion of the card is affixed to the black background with mini brads, so it opens like a small book. Here's Thanks To You

I'm part of team Pink- used PB's Micey Day for my cute image and colored the flowers. Added a white panel inside with pink zig zag embossing for a message. Here's Wish Big

Not part of the Breaking Bad phenomenon so I just randomly picked brown based on an idea I had to make a coffee themed card. Thanks again Lydia for all your hard work this month! Coffee Thanks
