MD: October 12, 2013 - Shoebox Swap in Bel Air, MD (Harford County)
CHANGE LOCATION FROM ABERDEEN TO BEL AIR
October 12, 2013 - Shoebox Swap in Bel Air, MD (Harford County)
We (Andrea & Lisa) are hosting another shoebox swap on Saturday, October 12, 2013 from 9:00 a.m. until 3:30 p.m., at: (please read the entire description)
St. Matthews Lutheran Church
1200 Churchville Road
Bel Air, MD 21014
We are asking that you stay for the entire time of the swap.
THEME:
The theme is Christmas/Holiday Season. We do require that all products must be made using Stampin' Up stamps, cardstock, inks, etc. Stamps and colors can either be current or retired.
SWAP:
There is room for 31 people (over 18 years of age please) to attend with each person bringing a shoebox swap for 30 people to make cards. There is a $ non-refundable charge per person for room rental, expenses, and box lunch which will be collected before the day of the swap. All monies need to be in by Friday, October 4, 2013. If money is not received by this time, the waiting list will be opened up. Everyone who signs up must have a SCS ID to make this fair for everyone attending.
All cards are to be full cards. Please bring enough supplies for everyone to make your card including all cardstock, stamps, inks, embellishments, tools, etc., along with your own adhesive and scissors to use on all the projects we make. Please make sure all of your supplies are labeled with either your name or initials, so we all go home with the stuff we brought. We'd like each person to have a sample and typed instructions in their box telling how to make your card, and also have their swaps in baggies or envelopes containing everything each person needs to do your card. This really helps make the swap go more smoothly.
LUNCH:
We are using Pats Pizzera:
Baked zitti
garden salad
cheese pizza
pepperoni
regular and diet soda
water
assorted cookies
There will be several door prizes throughout the day. And we are asking for card donations which will be used for our local cancer center. These can be old swap cards, card fronts, or even one of the cards you are doing for the swap.
It would be appreciated if you could bring a non-perishable food item as the church we are using has a food pantry.
To sum up what you’ll need to bring for the shoebox swap: shoebox supplies, adhesive, scissors, paper cutters and any other supply needed to make cards. Card donations for the local cancer center. I am attaching a registration form that should be sent to me along with the $16 non-refundable charge.
Let us know if you have any questions.
Lisa and Andrea

Reason: New Location
WOW, 24 hours later and we are 1/2 full. It is great to see old friends. I can't wait to catch up. I have added everyone who responded to the list. Let me know if I missed anyone.
OK Ladies
FOOD CHANGE, since we are in an educational environment, we have to use their catering service because they have a liability insurance to cover any issues with food. They are not a fan of outside food coming into the facility. I want to remind you there are vending machines on site. So I chatted with the caterer today and we can get a box lunch which includes:
sandwich (turkey, ham, chicken salad, tuna salad or vegetarian) need to select one
chips
apple
cookie
soda (diet, non-diet) not sure if pepsi or coke
This will take the cost from $17 to $21.($4 more) So I need you to tell me what type of sandwich you would like and what beverage. This actually sounds better than just pizza.
So this is a first time for us to use this facility and if we like them, I hope to use them even more. Plus it was easier to get this facility then trying to work something out with the church which is requiring liability insurance for the group.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks for understanding.
Andrea
Take time to read the description of the shoebox as things have changed. Let me know if you have any questions. I am in the process of selecting my Christmas card design. Can you believe it.
Please remove me #19 (April). I just realized I have too many things on my plate right now and I won't be able to be ready with a swap by the 12th. So sorry.
Hello - Lisa, I would like 1000 envelopes if you have them. please let me know the cost so I can have the correct amount for you that day.
My choice for the box lunch is: Ham and regular coke. Thanks - this will be a nice change from pizza. Will we still be able to bring goodies for our table mates?
Just wanted to let you know that nanciefancies and nancy fowler are the same person.
Thanks
Andrea - great going. I think I have my design picked out too!
love you guys!!

I think it would be fine to bring snacks among friends and extra beverages, but make sure there are secure lids on the beverages. We are using a classroom from the facility. I am excited for our get together.
