With so many craft ideas readily available online, do you keep a computer on your craft table?
Maybe you play music on it while you stamp, or watch a show while your working on a project? Are you pinning on Pinterest , and favoriting in the SCS Gallery while you're cutting cardstock for a swap? What? I know nothing about that.
I just recently purchased an Ipad to have in my craft room. I was thinking about getting a laptop, but the ipad is so much easier to find room for, and carry around with me. I love being able to look at the gallery for ideas, play music, and watch tutorials step by step as I make something.
My "craft table" - i.e., a large, dangerous, shifting pile of pretty things - is my office desk/command center for work, so I always have Splitcoast up, Facebook, Twitter, etc. while I'm crafting. And Lord help me if someone (who will remain nameless) posts a picture of Grumpy Cat while I'm stamping!
That Maddie cat is always looking up Grumpy Cat. You ARE talking about Maddie, right? I mean, IIIIII wouldn't send you super distracting cat pictures, Lydia. Not I. Nosireebob.
I have to pry my husband's laptop from his fingers to "borrow" it for stamping / Silhouette projects. Otherwise, I don't actually have a computer for only my use at my craft desk. Maybe someday.....lol

My "craft table" is a game-type table in my living room, just around the corner from our library room, where my desk top computer sits. I just have to take a few steps to be in front of my computer.
I'm retired and so happy to be able to be at home and pursue things I love to do. I'm old school, and don't have a laptop, since my computer is so accessible.

This is the best topic! I have a cold so I came over to peek to see what everyone is up too. I see this thread. I was just thrilled to find this topic. I moved into a new home this Spring. I have the most beautiful art studio now. My computer is based in the living room and not my art studio. I have two die cutters that are computer based that are in my art studio. You see where this is going. I have to drag my laptop in the art studio if I want to create anything on my die cutters. It's such a hassle. I have been paper piecing and cutting things by hand, lol.
I found I hate having a computer in my art studio. I am going old school to Bugga.
I have an iPad mini I take with me everywhere. I hardly use it when I am in my art studio. I am usually reading a book.
If you asked me last Winter if I had a computer in a craft room. The resounding answer would have been yes. I couldn't live without it. Now, I don't want it. I really finally get it now when I hear the girls say I don't want a computer in my craft room.
I stamp at my dinette table and my computer is in my living room. It is a desk top model . I don't mind walking a few steps to the computer since I stand when I make cards

I have a wide screen monitor on a stand with room to slide my laptop computer under the stand. I have a wireless keyboard and a wireless trackball mouse. I also have a little connector thing so that I can watch regular TV on it (or whatever we have recorded) using Windows Media Center. Or I can watch Netflix, Google, Amazon. It's also a necessity to have the computer in the room to use the Silhouette (or Cricut, although I haven't used that in a long time). I have a wireless printer/scanner/copier in the room too.

I have either my laptop or my iPad with me when I'm crafting at all times. You never know when you need to look up something when you are scrapbooking, or search SCS for ideas when you are card making. I can't imagine not having one or the other when I'm in my craft room.
