Lots of good smells coming from our kitchen today.

Most prominent: roast with vegetables in the crock pot. Mom also baked an acorn squash.

I made a new batch of refrigerator pickles (half batch, actually: 2 pint jars). I'll keep one jar, they'll take one with them to AZ.

We're in the process of trying a new recipe that we saw on The Chew. You sprinkle cinnamon and sugar, or chocolate shavings, on puffed pastry, roll from both sides toward the center, then slice and bake. They're sometimes called Elephant Ears because of the way they look after the rolling. We added ground pecans to one of the cinnamon/sugar ones. We've done the rolling part and they're now chilling in the freezer for a while before the next step. I'll let you know how they turn out, in case y'all want the recipe.
