I'm sure you've noticed how there seems to be less book stores than ever in many neighborhoods. This is a real downer for me because I actually enjoy visiting and hanging out at book stores. I remember the first book store where I discovered this passion, it was at the Citicorp Center where I worked in NY. I could spend the whole day in that store - they had coffee and large soft chairs to read in, I loved it!
So today I'd like to celebrate that memory, and the stores that still do it, by hosting our Inspiration Challenge at Barnes and Noble. There is a large variety of everything you can think of; journals, toys, home decor, and even a large Halloween Decor section! I'm sure you'll find your inspiration there.
My Guest Hostess today is someone you all know and love - an expert in CAS design, Ms. LateBlossom (Susan Raihala) and you can view her masterpiece for this challenge right here !
For those of you who say you get overwhelmed with having too many choices, I've uploaded five of my favorites so just stick with one (or all) of those for your inspiration. Click on the images below to see them bigger. Whether you choose one of those, or pick something entirely different from the website, please let us know which photo served as your inspiration piece please. (I suggest you put the URL on a line by itself - so that we're sure everyone can link off to it.) All inspiration should link back to the Barnes and Noble site.
Use the keyword: IC409 (no spaces or extra characters) when you upload your card, and make sure you put commas between your keywords.
How to Play ~ View the attached images. You may be inspired to recreate the pieces ~ but that isn't necessary ... get your inspiration from the colors, layout, style or 'theme'. Just enjoy wherever your inspired creative journey takes you. Remember, if you are inspired by the creation of another artist, please do not use print-outs of the art in your creation or directly copy their work. Make the inspiration piece your own. Don't worry ~ no card is 'wrong' and there is no time limit for uploading your card for the challenge. There are no rules, so let your creative juices run wild ~ be *inspired* and go get stamping!
Don't forget about No Upload Sunday - Let's give the gallery moderators a day off and not upload on Sunday (unless, of course, you are a Fan Club member - yet another reason to spend a little money on your favorite site). Also, remember to link to your SCS gallery on this thread. Thank you for joining me on this inspiration journey.
I'm up late stamping after not getting into my craft room all week! so good to get inky again! here's my Halloween card inspired by the children's book - Room on the Broom!
Thanks for the fun site, Audrie! I get the B&N emails, but I guess I never looked at all the fun stuff they have. Here's my Autumn Leaves . Thanks so much for looking!
Thanks for the challenge. I chose Bing Crosby's White Christmas CDHERE as my inspiration for several reasons: I love white Christmas cards; White Christmas is my all-time favourite Christmas song; and because I live in the Australia, it is summer at Christmas-time and I will only ever DREAM of a white Christmas (although we have had hail several times on Christmas Day from summer storms - not quite the same peaceful scene!).
I loved this challenge!!! I am going to be heading back to B&N for more inspiration. For my School Cool card I was inspired by the cover of this book and it led to the layout on my card and coloring the dress to match the patterned paper.
