I waited too long before ordering refills for my ATG gun. I need to get some on order before I run out and have to purchase at the scrapbook store, which is way too expensive for me. Trust me, they still get plenty of my $, just not on the products they can't sell at a good price. Especially when I use so much tape!
I have used ONLY Scotch ATG tape but I am wondering if anyone has used the acid free tape from the tape depot for scrapping?? https://www.thetapedepot.com/cart/co...mart/Itemid,1/
Did you like it as well? It does seem to be about half the price of Scotch ATG adhesive. Any thoughts on the matter or should I go back to ordering from the framing supply company?
I have heard good things about the Tape Depot refills and had planned on using them when I ran out, but so far have not needed to order from them...hopefully someone else will jump in to answer your question. From what I've heard, they are very similar in quality to the Scotch rolls.
If you happen to be located near a Hancock Fabrics, they are clearancing their Scotch refills for around $2-3 right now...I myself bought many, many rolls the other day.

I have ordered from there many times-Great Service!!!
Thanks for the reply's, I will be giving them a try with an order tomorrow, before I run out completely. You just can't beat the cost of a dozen rolls.
Nope, I don't live near a Hancocks, they closed there doors in town years ago. Only a couple fabric stores left in the area and one of those has mostly quilting fabric.
I order the 3M ATG refills from Save on Wholesale Picture Frame Supplies. After struggling with every refill from a bulk order of 144 rolls from Tape Depot a few years ago my friends and I think the 3M tape is worth the price.
I know many buy and love the Tape Depot tape. I bought some a few years ago and hated it! It was not wound tightly on the roll and it was a mess. I now only buy from framingsupplies.com They have excellent service (fast and friendly) and a good price for the 3M tape - I buy a few boxes of 12 rolls at a time.
Oh man, that is what I was afraid of with ordering from someone other than framingsupplies.com!!! I have NEVER be unhappy with their product or service so I guess it's probably best to stick with what you know works well. Now if I was using the tape on only cards (I have plenty of atg tape for cards) I would not worry or mind so much but my scrap books are something else!!
I will be checking out the link Arlene, to see what I can do there. Thank you and thank you all for your insight.
I placed my order with framingsupply.com. You just can't beat the better product. I still may try a few refills from tape depot just to be able to compare but with a crop coming up I need something dependable and that won't stress me out.
I have ordered from the tape depot several times. I have also signed up for tape shares where someone places a bulk order from tape depot and a bunch of people buys into it. You pick how many slots you want (a slot is for 12 rolls), paypal the money to the hostess and she mails the tape out when it arrives.
I get all my tape refills from Tape Depot from their ebay store, and have for the last several years. I have had no problems whatsoever with the tape, and you sure can't beat the price. I buy 12 rolls at a time, and it usually arrives in a few days.

So far I've only bought from Tape Depot. The tape always seems fine until I hit the end of the roll then it starts getting a little wonky. It's so cheap, I don't really mind, but I think I'll try the actual 3M tape from framing supplies next to see if it's worth the little extra $$$.
I do want to say that I did have trouble with the tape from the tape depot wobbling and sometimes even coming off the rollers. But I found the solution online and tried it and it fixed my problem. I made a round shim to put over the tape roll on the spindle and I no longer have the tape wanting to come off the rollers of my ATG.

Thank you again!
Sharon, did you buy the glider refills that come two per package or did you buy the 924 refill (12 in a box)? I think they are the same thing. I am going to do a bulk order and am trying to figure out if the 72+ price means 72 packages of 2 glider refills for a total of 144 refills (that would be the least expense and it is just different packaging than the 924).
