Shoebox Project Information:
This is the only mandatory part of the day and will take place first on our schedule.
**Please have your shoe box completely prepared and ready to go when you arrive for the gathering. If you do not arrive with a completed and ready to go shoe box project, your table mates are not obligated to allow you to do the project they have prepared. Prepared means having all of the elements of your preplanned project prepared and ready for your table mates. Tossing a bunch of random supplies on the table and instructing people to "create whatever they would like" is not acceptable. Please be considerate of others and extend the courtesy of having your shoe box project ready when you arrive. Thanks!!**
*Your shoebox project can be anything stamped*
• If you are making a card, we will make FULL cards using at least one embellishment (ribbon, brads, buttons, etc).
• Quality CS is a MUST!
• Please have all card pieces pre-cut.
• Please bring stamps or other items for your project
• Please include instructions (aka: recipes), tips and any other important information.
• Please bring four extra completed shoe box projects. You will use one as your sample at your table, two for hostess gifts and one for a door prize.
• You may make other projects keeping in mind it should not take more than 10-12 minutess to complete.
• We estimate having approx. 8 people at each table and will give final numbers when we have a final count.
****AFTERNOON PROJECT****
We will not be doing a mini album as our afternoon project this year - I think we've pretty much beat that to death and are moving on to something new!!
Swaps
Marsie is our swap hostess. You can also feel free to email her at the gathering email and I will forward it to her. Please follow the requirements below and if you are joining the SU only, please use only current SU products. Please note that if you sign up for a swap and do not fulfill your commitment, you will not receive any swaps from the others in your group.
We will have 6 swaps:
1. Card front – SU only
2. Card Front – NVR
3. 6x6 recipe swap
4. ATC – Artist Trading Card
5. 3D Item swap
6. Rolodex card swap (card size will be 4 x 2 5/8 – the same size as the SU!/Sizzix Big Shot die)
Swaps are not mandatory – you may participate in as few or as many as you would like. Please remember to showcase your best work using quality products. You must use at least two layers and one embellishment on each swap – thanks!!
Handmade Gift Exchange
We will exchange handmade gifts. Please be sure that your gift is handmade. It does not necessarily need to be something to do with paper crafting. Please do not bring a gift that has not been handmade. For those wishing to participate, please bring a handmade gift with a value of approx. $5.00. Please be sure your gift is wrapped with your name so the person who receives it knows who to thank!!
Donations
We are going to be donating cards to the Journey Home Hospice this year. Please read about their organization here:
Journey Home Inc - Rochester, NY
They are in need of thank you cards and general use cards only. Due to the nature of their organization, cards such as birthday, get well, new baby, wedding and those for specific holiday holidays (which could not be used as thank you cards) etc. are not needed. If possible, it would be helpful to donate an envelope with your card. We will again have a special prize drawing for anybody who donates cards to this cause. We will be using proceeds from the raffles to purchase stamps to donate as well. Just an FYI – their logo is a butterfly!!
We are also having a 2nd special prize drawing for anybody who donates something for the Journey Home’s wish list:
Journey Home Inc - Our Wish List
You will receive 1 tickets for the drawing for each item off of the list that you donate.
The reason that we have chosen Journey Home as the recipient of our donations is because of the incredible work they do. I have a personal friend, Kim Lucas, who volunteers there – not only does she volunteer there, but her Mother passed away there as well. It is truly an amazing place for people to be able to live out their last days. When Kim’s mom was there, there were gracious enough to let my sister use their kitchen to make to make a home made fettuccini alfredo dinner for several people with no questions asked as their goal is for everybody to feel like they are at home – patients as well as guests.
Hope to see you all at the gathering!
Lauri and Marsie

We will do a Secret Sister again this year if there is interest. There will be information forms at the registration table for those wishing to participate.
We decided as a group last year that the minimum secret sister requirements are as follows:
-a card on her birthday
-one card for each season (winter, spring, summer, fall)
-a papercrafted gift with a $5 value at the reveal at next years gathering
We want to keep it simple, so please feel free to do as much as you want, but above would be the minimum.
If you have a Secret Sister from last years gathering, please don't forget to bring her a papercrafted gift as stated above for our reveal!!

If any of you would like to bring garage sale items, please feel free, but at your own risk. If there is enough of an interest and somebody would like to coordinate a schedule to monitor the items for sale, please let me know.

Lauri, want to do an "Unwanted/Unloved" box exchange again?
UNWANTED/UNLOVED
We have done this swap the last couple of years, it was fun, for people who have not exchanged the box before, what it is is a medium mailing box from the post office, any of the two medium works, you would FILL it with things you no longer use or want or have doubles of, please fill the box with items, not peanuts or filler. PLEASE do not put broken items in, if it does not work no one else wants it I know someone received two broken punches last year which is not fun for them. When you arrive at the gathering you will be given a ticket for each of your boxes you bring, do not put your name on them, just a mark so you will not pick your own box to take home. There is not $ amount min or max, you may put items worth more than you get back. Paper crafting items only.......You can bring as many as you wish.

Michelle,
I'm so sorry for misspelling your last name! My name has no "e" and people are constantly spelling it wrong, so I know how frustrating it can be.
Sorry
Lauri (with no "e"!!)

Lauri, there is no hot link for the Journey Home wish list.

I just looked and don't even see a wish list on their web site. Let me look into this and I will post what I find out.
Thanks for bringing this to my attention.

Lauri,
Please add Sue Dean to the list of your event's participants. She is at her cottage and internet is spotty at best. She said she would send in the registration next week when she gets back home. Thanks! Mary Rodgers.
