Ink pad storage ideas?!

I have a lot of Stampin Up ink pads- mostly all of them lol as well as CTMH and Tim Holtz Distress Inks. I have the Stampin Up organizer but have outgrown it and have ink pads floating everywhere! Does anyone have any good suggestions for storage that I could buy or make that would work for all of it? I have been watching Hoarders:Buried Alive and afraid my scrap space is starting to resemble some of the spaces that are on that show lol! Thanks in advance!

I too am looking for something different. Somewhere, not sure if it was here on SCS, SC, or on a blog somewhere...I saw reference to using the inserts for the Big Shot Die Storage Boxes. Of course, now, I can't find it. There is a photo gallery with some ink pad storage ideas, but I am not finding the one I am looking for. If anyone remembers seeing the one I mentioned, maybe you can direct me.

I use a product called Porta Ink for my ink pads and it works great, it fits the stampin up pads really well and you can purchase inserts to adjust to the Tim Holtz pads or others that are smaller

I have all sorts of ink pads from different companies.

I haven't tried using it with SU pads....I have 2 SU Ink Caddies which gives me room to add future ink colors. I have other ink pads in a repainted tape deck holder on my craftroom wall.

I have ALL kinds of inks--Tim Holtz, SU, Archival, Colorbox, Memento, Adirondack, Jenni Bowlin, etc. It ALL stays in my Stampin' Things units. LOVE these things. They also hold my reinkers, stickles, etc. I have attached a recent photo which shows 1 of 4 sides. I just moved across the country so the photos in my linked post are a bit older but they show info about the pieces. Hope that helps. These are amazing for sure!

I know it's a little different, but I use a wooden tape or CD rack. It holds most of my stamp pads and I have them grouped by color rather that Stampin up 'Families". All of the craft pads are in one place. Works for me!

That's what I use, they are hard to find since cassettes aren't used much anymore. But it works great. I found mine at a thrift shop. for $7.50 and it holds 100 SU pads. Sadly my Versamark and Staz on don't fit. But I really like it.

I bought mine from Angie Noe Angie Noe's Stamping Storage Solutions I have 2 of these ones on an old dining room table we no longer use and i like how its set up for me. I can put SU!, Tim Holtz, Archival, Hero Arts and Stazon pads all in these wood holders. They all fit good. They have places for ink refills and marker storage too. As you can see, i use the top for storing stuff too. :lol:

I have my stored in old casette tape holders. SU stamps fit the "slots" perfectly. For my other stamps that don't I cut foam board and made shelves for them to sit on. I also can store my other stamping supplies on the shelves I made. I got three of the tape holders free and spray painted them white to match my room. I love love it because I can adjust the shelves that I made to fit.

I, too, use a cassette tape holder. One of the Nappa Valley ones that I picked up at a used record store for $5. It is perfect!!

I made this from a foam board. This is not my tutorial, I'm pretty sure I would have found it here several years ago. I did just make a second one to use for punches, I just changed the width of the spaces.

I bought a wooden organizer from suink.com about four years ago, then I bought another one when stampinup redid the colors. My old one stores the new style punches. I really like the options of some that sit on a desk and some on the wall. I like the comment above that you must access your needs, then research. Good luck!

I love the 48 pad holder at Organize More, but when I went to buy it, the shipping was half again as much as the unit! It annoyed me. I will probably end up giving in to the inevitable and getting it in the near future because my ink is just stacked up on a low shelf at this point and finding what I want without tipping everything over is starting to be impossible, but sheesh. Nineteen bucks to ship a 36 dollar item?

Well, I ended up ordering it and a Distress Ink/Reinker storage thing as well because I needed something for both and the shipping hardly went up when I ordered both at the same time. So it ended up being worth it to me. I had to wait 5 weeks to get the units, but now that I have them I'm very happy with them.

If you go on the site and order more than one unit you'll see what I mean.

I plan on doing a video but haven't done it yet. We just moved across the country 6 months ago, and my studio is the last thing to finish. I am "slow going" right now but hope to get it done and a video soon.

I use clear plastic bins for mine. I label the color by "stamping" (more like quick rub) in that color the taping a swatch to the side of the lid or the body. That way I can see what color it is without pulling it out. I don't have a whole bunch (maybe 10?) but its still nice. I also label what they are being regular or the embossing ink.

I ordered the Tim Holtz one and the SU one that holds 80 ink pads I think. Took about the same time and while it did cost a bit to ship, I didn't think it was that bad and I am not one to pay for shipping if I don't have to. But they were worth every penny and now I am thinking about ordering the marker one too.

I don't have much money to spend on my stamp craft storage. I got some decorative boxes at "Tuesday Morning." They have them at Michaels and Hobby Lobby as well. I turned them on the side and my stamp pads all sit in there nicely. I used another to house my clear/clinging stamps. They are in DVD cases. It works for me.


Everything is housed in our old entertainment center. The TV sat on a pull-out shelf. I reattached that with a piano hinge and now I have a drop down work table. I added shelves and called it a day. I have a crafting armoire.

I found a ikea ribka? shelf at goodwill and I think I might add a board to it and use it for my inks for the time being. Will be able to see them and get to them with out digging through the drawer. Anyone have theirs this way?

Years ago a local liquor store had an empty Grey Goose Vodka (wooden) box sitting on their shelf collecting dust. I asked if it was for sale and the guy said I could have it. Took it home and it fit my then small collection of stamp pads.

When I outgrew it, I went on the hunt--and found new wood wine boxes on line. I bought six and use two for my Distress pads (lids removed, boxes on their sides), one for my Distress Stains, another for Dyan Reaveley sprays and one for my Staz-On pads. Can't remember what I put in the last one!

Unfortunately, the place I ordered them from no longer has them and other places I've tried want $20 a piece for them, but if you check with your local liquor store, they might have some behind the counter. Wouldn't hurt to ask.

I'm using an old wooden Pepsi crate. I've had it for years - was so excited when I discovered that my ink pads fit perfectly. :-)

(The only thing wrong with it is that I've always been a Coca-Cola fan, LOL. It was a gift.)

I'm so glad you posted your photos. I was wondering how to use the open cassette racks and you explained it perfectly!

I ordered the 48 pad/marker unit (for the SU size pads) and the lock-down punch unit and am so glad I did. I don't make decisions easily and researched the heck out of all the units I could find (these, Organize More and a few others) and while these weren't the least expensive "per color" (that's the method I used) they suited my needs the best.

Their website says they ship within 5 business days, and usually less but mine shipped on the 6th business day. Brett (the owner I think) said they were extra busy because of the SCS sale they had. Honestly I would have liked them sooner but I can live with an extra day Now I can spend my blizzardy weekend getting my stamping/scrapbooking corner done.

The units are pretty basic but with paint and a bit of creativity they could be dressed up. I'm keeping mine natural for now as I'll be moving and am planning (hoping???) to have my own little craft room and will just paint them when I decide on my color scheme.

The only issue so far is, on the the ink unit, they marker slots on the left are a bit snug. I did contact them about this but will probably just take a bit of rolled up sandpaper and give the slots a quick once over.

They were packaged nicely, nothing fancy but well done. Secure, not over packaged and recyclable. I used to work for a shipping company and I've been told I'm a *bit* picky about this. As others have mentioned there is a little note and CD enclosed thanking their buyers for their purchases where they also share a bit of their religious views. I'm not a particularly religious person but this didn't bother me. If you feel strongly about being "preached to" in any way this might turn you off.

I'm almost positive I would order from them again.

I contacted Brett about the issue I had and he promptly offered to take care of the problem in a way that wouldn't inconvenience me at all. I can't say enough about how impressed I with the products and service provided. In fact I just ordered two more.

I once that a rotating pad, markers and refill holder. It was a PITA for me to put the marker back every time. Since I don't have to reins often. It was a huge waste of money and precious real estate..looked good though...lol

I ordered the the 80 pad holder from Organize More. My markers are back in the case and reinkers are in a Tupperware thingy. Saved a lot of room.
