I've seen so many links for tutorials for this site, though somehow never thought to sign up. Decided to finally take the plunge, and discover there's daily challenges, now I wish I'd done this sooner! ;)
I'm Diana, from the UK, and card making is kinda all I do. I have a disability so can't work, had to stop making jewellery, then got a homemade card in the post. Looked at it and told myself that I wanted to learn how to do something similar, and I've been hooked ever since! My housemate despairs because of how much stuff I've accumulated, but I think that's more jealousy than anything else! ;)
There's a lot I can't do - don't have a die-cutter or an embosser, and there's techniques I've not tried yet, but I'm thinking that this site with the forum and the challenges is going to help me with that!
Thank you! I've just done one challenge already, the CAS, working on a Mix It Up card, based on one of my two other addictions - CHOCOLATE! I've been in such a funk recently, not just with cards, looking around the site has already helped so much!
Hi from just across the water!
The tutorials here are wonderful - they were my introduction to the site many years ago. There are still so many fun and different things to try even without a die-cutting machine or dry embossing, I'm sure you'll keep well busy!
Hi Diana, welcome here from a fellow UK-dweller! I don't have a die cutter or embosser either and I've lived to tell the tale... Then again I have a vast stash of other clever kit ;)
Hi Diana, welcome from Australia! Fantastic that you have started playing in the challenges already . There is so much to see here and so many friendly and helpful people - this is my 'home away from home' and I am sure you will love it as much as I do.
I have been wondering something. I get bad hand tremors that mean I can't stamp, but I refuse to let it stop me crafting, and I've been posting those cards as well as ones with stamps. Is that alright?! I suddenly had a thought of "what if I'm doing something BAD?! (I can't even be mean/bad in games, it's ridiculous! :P).
I also cannot get the hang of shading either, which is so frustrating! :O :( Just cannot manage it. :(
Hi and welcome from New Zealand! I agree with Ilona, there is no such thing as bad. I don't have a die-cutter or an embosser either but there are a zillion other things you can do when cardmaking. Have fun exploring the tutorials.
Stephanie
