Default Help with Clear Stamped Images

Hi everyone!
I am loving my photopolymer stamps lately but I find that everytime I make an impression, it comes out splotchy, even missing a spot sometimes! Especially the Hero Arts shadow inks. I know those are really popular (I I really want to enjoy using them) but for some reason I'm not really liking them because I can never get a good impression! I even blame the ink! But maybe its because I stamped with new sets? Is there any tips for stamping with new clear stamps or to get a good solid image overall?

Thanks for any tips and advice!

Hi there, clear stamps can be the hardest to get good images from. First off, a good tip is to go over the surface of the stamp with low-tack tape, to remove any residue from the manufacturing process. A lot of people on here will recommend lightly rubbing over it with a pencil eraser too. Next is your ink- Versafine generally will give you the best impression with polymer stamps. A lot of people also recommend Chalk inks for a good coverage. Here on my blog I did some ink comparisons with an assortment of inks on clear photopolymer stamps- you can see the Versafine fared best. I was mainly trying out a new pad available over here called Clearly Better- but I found it no better than the Versafine, which is what I always use. Hope this helps.
