Shari (((Hugs))) That is so hard and frustrating. A few months ago I recorded C having a meltdown. Then I showed it to him several hours later when he was calm. He was a bit mortified. Now when I see him start to escalate, I give him a few calm down idea suggestions; and if that doesn't work, I tell him I could record him stomping his foot and pitching a fit. The boy apparently does have some shame, because it has worked more than once.
Lorien, I hope you find your towels.
Sorry about all the grouchies.
That's really rather brilliant! I suspect our kids don't WANT to be like that, they just don't always have the mechanisms in place or functional to stop it. Sadly, I know a few adults with the same problem.
