Money Saver Punches

Any suggestions on good sites where I can purchase paper punches that won't cost me a fortune? I have a few of the basic punches but with a limited income it's not easy to buy some of the others I'd really like!

Thanks!

Sometimes you can find them on ebay, but the problem is the shipping costs. Punches are soooo heavy and they usually cost a lot to ship.

I've had the best luck with coupons from Michaels, Joanns and Hobby Lobby, and buying them in person at the store. And also, sometimes they are on sale in those stores.

Jen, I have more punches than I have room to store. I would be willing to sell them for a reasonable price, and send them to you in a USPS flat rate box. PM me if you are interested, and I will let you know what I have available.

Thanks!
Krista

I recently got an EK Success punch from Joann's online for half price. I then searched for a shipping code via Google and found shipping for 4 cents! (It was on the Fourth of July). So if you don't mind doing a bit of hunting, and waiting for sales, you can order online and save.

I have bought punches here on the buy/sell thread for very reasonable prices. I also have bought on ebay. The trick is waiting until you find a seller who has several you want and shipping in a flat rate box to minimize the cost of shipping. I agree with a previous poster that you need to stay aware, and keep actively looking for what you want. It doesn't hurt to check Craig's List for sellers, since they would be local to you, and check the garage sale listings in the paper (and on Craig's List) to see who is selling crafting items. Sign up for emails from online sellers like Oh My Crafts, ScrapAce, Blitsy, My Craft Channel, scrapbookSTEALS.com, CraftySteals.com, peachycheap.com, etc. You never know what the deal of the day will be!

Here is the best deal on Fiskars punches I have ever seen. I've purchased several punches from them. GREAT Prices, fast and courteous service.

TJ Maxx & Ross Dress for Less often sells EK Success & Martha Stewart punches for $3-$5 a piece where I live. Stock is hit or miss of course, but I've gotten 5 nice ones between the 2 stores. I hear Marshall's and Tuesday Morning sometimes has them also. I have also had good luck with local Stampin' Up demonstrators that sell their retired used punches for a good price. About a month ago, 3 local demonstrators joined forces and had a retired items yard sale. That was fabulous. I regularly see ads on my local Craigslist for Stampin' Up items, including punches. If your Craigslist is robust like Portland's is, it would not hurt to place an ad saying you're interested in buying used punches. Sometimes people don't try to sell stuff like that because they think no one would want it. (Wrong! ;))

Also, if you have a place like this where you live, you might find some interesting stuff. I've seen punches there, even got a dragonfly punch, and the store here in Portland has the biggest selection of used (and some not ever used) Stampin' Up stamps I have ever seen.
