Hi everyone,
I have a ton of flower dies as well as a cricut and a silhouette machine. I have been searching for the perfect paper to make my flowers look and feel like the Prima flowers.
I have been searching for the right mulberry paper. I want to make some poinsettias for some cards. I cannot seem to find a decent paper or source to make these. Can anyone help out at all. What do you use? Where do you purchase your paper? I would love some feedback/help.

Here is a link to a blog by Kittie Kraft. She makes the most beautiful flowers I've ever seen on the internet. Her cards are all just works of art! This tutorial is how to make poinsettias. I think she just uses a regular, good quality cardstock. The trick is how she shapes the petals after she has die cut/punched them.
I usually use Recollections card stock to make my flowers. It shapes nicely with a stylus and its sturdy enough to use shimmer spray and scrunch up. I made these flowers (quite some time ago) with Recollections paper and my CraftRobo:

OP, coffee filters and mulberry paper (which you mentioned) are most like the material in basic prima flowers IMO. I think coffee filters will be easier to die cut so you'll get better results (the fibers throughout the mulberry paper make die cutting tricky if you want to just use the mulberry paper).

Another way to soften cardstock is to run it through a crimper several times. Turn it each time so it goes through the crimper in different directions and keep going until the paper feels the way you want.

I like to use coffee filters to make flowers. I discovered one of the benefits to using them the last time I taught a class - I was able to fold several filters together and was able to cut 12 flowers at a time using a Spellbinder's Die!
I have successfully used vellum in the past to make flowers. In those days I used used punches to cut out petals etc. I used wax crayons with Gamsol to colour the vellum and then shaped it with pergamano tools. This worked well.
