I have Rangers Seafoam White embossing powder which I find a bit too granular and I was wondering if anyone has also used Hero Arts PW110 White embossing powder? Any thoughts as to which is the best?

I've tried so many different white embossing powders, even did extensive comparison testing, using different cardstocks, inks and "detail" powders. My goal was to find a combo that would print a clean white detailed image on black cardstock without getting specks of white anywhere. Bottomline, I couldn't make perfect happen. But I did find I could come close using Versamark and Stampendous Detail White embossing powder on Gina K. Black cardstock. I was surprised how different brands of black cardstock altered the outcome.....some cardstock is so much more magnetic. And also surprised that using white ink, instead of Versamark, didn't help the outcome and, in fact, some brands of white ink made the outcome worse. Oh for a white Versafine! Then the brand of embossing powder wouldn't matter, I suspect.
Hi Bahb, thanks for your comment. I was interested that white pigment ink didn't improve the embossing - a good tip. I will try to source Stampendous Detail White ep. Not so easy living 'down under' as I do but will try. Thanks again!

I love the name, too, Queen Of Inkland! Really cool. And it would fit me as I get it all over my hands when in a big project. Now the question of Stampendous super fine white embossing powder...I use it exclusively, also, and with Rangers Black fine detail embossing powder. I did one of those tests on all my inks and powders a while back and found the paper to be the secret to the outcome. I love Gina K paper and Neenah for embossing. Other papers work fine but I can see a difference. Black ink doesn't take to all papers equally either.
Hi Dottie and thanks for your comments. I have Ranger's Super Fine Detail black (possibly the same thing as your fine detail black) and am very happy with it too. I was disappointed that Ranger don't have a white in their super fine range and also that Hero Arts only have a 'beige white' in their ultra fine range. Why not a pure white???!! Now I just need to convince Stampendous that there is a world of stampers outside of the American/Canadian borders!
