Default TLC434 ~ Ruffled Embellished Ribbons ~ {6/17/13}

Hello TLC Peeps!
I hope everyone that celebrated Father's Day had a lovely time! We got our first tornado warning of the season, but it didn't last long and left some wonderful rain.

Today's technique involves a needle and thread, so go find them! If there is one thing I have a hard time keeping track of in my house, it is sewing needles!! I "need" a good place to keep them!

Today we are going to make ruffled embellished ribbons. I love the look of ruched ribbon (as evidenced in a previous TLC), and adding pearls (my favorite embellishment) seemed a natural thing to do.

You can also add glass beads, charms, or any other kind of embellishment that has a hole for sewing it on.

Here are the steps (and pictures below)
1. Collect supplies needed. Cut a length of ribbon 2-3 times longer than you want for the final length.
2. Tie a knot in the end of your ribbon, and pass through the ribbon a couple of times, leaving a long enough tail to tuck under a layer or behind your cardstock.
3. Thread one or two pearls or beads onto your needle and pull tight enough to make the ruffle. You can have loose or tight ruffles, or a combination.
4. Continue adding pearls/beads until you have the look you want. Tuck in the other end and fasten off.

Please use TLC434 (no spaces) as your keyword.

My Sample: Happy Days

Thanks Judy, what a great challenge... I really needed to try something new!

Here is my card Alarm Cluck ; I substituted buttons for beads... I hope that is okay.
