Right now, I have two of the shorter white shelves, one on each end, with a white shelving board across them for work space. I need drawer space and there's room to add them under the table, in between the shelves. I'm trying to decide whether to use the Iris/Sterilite plastic drawers or the ones that you get at Hobby Lobby and Michaels. Opinions?
The drawers available from HL and Michaels will probably look better and be sturdier (esp. if punches and/or cardstock might be stored in them). Although I had punches in the plastic carts for a couple of years (on the cart I forgot to remove the wheels from it eventually bent so if you use these carts remove the casters if storing heavy items).
I use a combination of both. Word of caution: I got the "cube" that is supposedly designed for hanging files for 12" x 12" paper, and that thing was HEAVY to pull in and out. I had two of them - one was fine, the other one the handle pulled right off in my hand! I ditched them and store my papers on a shelf in the closet now...
Most of my cubicle drawers slide well but when they stick (or I need to access the stuff in the one with "issues" ... which isn't bad considering I have almost 20 and they weren't always stored in the best conditions) I rub the drawer and the guides with wax paper. Usually works for quite a long time too.
So I went ahead and got one of the Sterilite carts. Partly because I'm impatient and don't know when I'll be back at HL and partly because they are cheaper. It actually works well for what I needed it for since I don't have a huge amount of supplies. I figure if I ever can switch to wood drawers, that I can use this cart somewhere else in the house. I added some scrapbook paper to the fronts of the drawers to pretty them up a bit. ;)
I did that too but it didn't really help. I tried waxed paper and I also tried an actual candle.
Gale, my son who is a tech/gearhead type told me this tip. Use Pledge furniture polish in the spray can when things stick. Just spray some on a paper towel and wipe over. Works like a charm. My vacuum cleaner latch which locks the bag cylinder on was sticking. That fixed it. Also used Pledge to wipe down the bar on my Making Memories trimmer, which was squeaking like mad. Worked on it, too.

Thanks for the tip! Putting pledge spray on my shopping list (those wipes have me so spoiled).
Gale, it works on metal, but works on hard plastic as well. That's what my vacuum latch is made of. Seems like lots of things that used to be metal are plastic now-a-days.

These drawers are painted wood or wood composite. Would it work on them too?
You know, I would give it a try. Pledge is made for wood furniture, and it sure couldn't hurt. Do the drawers have any glides on them, or just wood and a wood channel?
