I have a very good friend who just had to put her stepdad into hospice. I do not know him, but want to send him a card to brighten his day. I'm at a loss as to what kind of sentiment to use. Does anyone have any ideas?
I've had three parents on Hospice over the years. They loved receiving the cards, and all of the family enjoyed looking at them and knowing that people were thinking about them. I would not send anything with a religious theme unless you knew the family well enough to know whether they would appreciate that. I would just keep it simple - thinking about you . . . Nature themed is always good.
You could try thinking of it differently - a card doesn't have to have a sentiment at all. If you really feel it has to say something, I'd go with a simple "Thinking of you" or perhaps "Hello" since you don't know him. Otherwise, just stamp a nice design and write your good wishes inside.
I have made a few of these cards and it is always hard to know what to say. The one set I have used if from Paper Smooches (and no, I don't design for them). It has a sentiment that say sending prayers, blessings etc. Don't know if that helps?

I was looking at the new Stampin Up catalogue and found these. Other stamp lines likely have something similar
Thinking of you
Sending you sunshine
Warm thoughts are with you
Hello/hello there
Oh, hello
Sending good thoughts your way
Smile
I'm sure no matter what you send will be appreciated. People tend to send Get Well cards but don't know what to do when hospice is brought in. Anything you do will be well appreciated.
