Default We R Memory Keepers Magnetic Mat & Twist Trimmer

Hello,
I saw these two items in Jo-ann's today, both 40% off and was wondering if anyone has purchased them already, and what they thought of them. The mat is $24.99 minus 40% and the magnetic trimmer is $19.99 minus 40%. The cool thing is the mat is magnetic, and the cutter has 8 different types of cuts and it is magnetic too, so it sticks to the mat. The mat is self-healing too.
What do you think?

I bought the mat yesterday. I bought it for the size, it's bigger than the EK Success 12x12 that I have been using for a few years. I like that it is two sided, which the other one is not, and it's pretty banged up. I am hoping the magnet quality will help keep little pieces of paper and such from wandering away. I am also hoping that the metal ruler will be useful in cutting with a craft knife from time to time. I don't know about the cutter, looks interesting.

I have both and like them a lot, too. They are a great value, even more so if you have coupons!

Don't put your lap top on top of the mat! My friend did and it demagnetized her power cord for her Mac :-)

Hi!
Over concerns that this mat would mess up electronics, I had DH take a look at it. We don't know much about this tech stuff, but I do have an iPhone, Cricut Gypsy and an iPad mini and I don't want to mess those things up.

I wanted the mat because of it's size and the fact that you could use either side, that's why I didn't buy rotary cutter mat from the sewing side of JoAnn's.

DH took the mat apart, the scalloped edges weren't well sealed and pulled off the metal plate sandwiched between the two sides really easy. He tossed the metal plate and I stuck the two layers (which were still really sticky) to each other.

I now have a two sided large cutting mat, I just don't have the magnet part, which I can live with. I don't have to worry about messing up our gadgets, and for $12 it's still a good deal.

Thanks for the warning
