Hello everyone!!! I hope all you ladies had a wonderful Mother's Day!!! Mine was busy...we had lunch with my parents and supper with our son and his family...now I can't move because I'm too full!!!
I also want to thank Judy for the awesome birthday challenge last week...thanks everyone for helping me celebrate my special day!!!
Now...on with the show!! I have a stampin kinda challenge this week!!! We are going to do the Bokeh Effect!!!
Bokeh is actually a photography technique that is a blur or an out of focus area of the image. We can mimic this effect by doing something pretty simple for stampers...stamping off. Yup...a little sponging and stamping off and you have created a beautiful background or main image!!!
Here are the deets:
1. Select a small solid stamp around 1/2 inch in size such as a flower, heart, circle, star, etc. and 2-4 different light colored inks.
2. Sponge an area on your card stock...you can use any color card stock as long as you can see the ink you will use to stamp the small image.
3. Start with one color, ink up you stamp, and stamp 3-4 times over the sponged area without reinking the stamp. Stamp off 2-3 times with each color...be sure you space out the colors and darks and lights.
Here are some directions with pictures for those of you who need visuals like me. Hope that's okay Joan.

Great challenge! I used my aqua painter to moisten my white paper, then applied TE's Sew Happy's spools stamp for my images, accentuated with colored pencils. Added some "thread" for my sewing machine, and some twine and ribbon for decoration. Here's Sew Happy

Actually made this one in the morning before I drove to Indy and back to drop DD off at the airport, but I had a hard time taking pictures of it, and didn't have time to upload before I left. I just caught the last bit of sun that was shining right on the center of my card as I took the picture this evening! I had a lot of fun making this and will for sure use this technique again! Thanks as always for digging up these fun ideas for us to try! Inspired Bokeh Leaves
Thought I'd give this a try, after rereading the instructions, I think I missed the step of sponging the background before stamping. I thought the hats looked they were flying into the air. congratulations
