Copic colors that coordinate with SU! colors
Hello - I am looking for a chart that shows the coordinating colors of Copics to SU!. I love the way the Copics look compared to the SU! markers. I am completely new to the world of Copics. I know of ilikemarkers, but I have not had the time to read her blog. If anyone could help with a chart they have already created that would be great.
TIA!!!

I would also like to add:
In my personal opinion, YG63 does NOT go with Sage Shadow...and BG09 is too bright and intense for Blue Bayou.
And the Colorless Blender is NOT a blender pen like SU...it is for blending to COLORLESS. As in fading out to white.

You're welcome!
That's what I did too...started with some of my favorite colors in SU...and then went from there. As I placed my intial order I remember thinking how those online swatches really don't look like they match the SU colors....but many swatches are way off from the actual marker color! One you have some in your hand...it's so much easier to buy darker and lighter shades.
Have fun!!

Cher,
When you state that you prefer a shade lighter, how does that relate to the copic number system then. I am new to whole "copic thing" and would like to invest in some, but don't want to waste my money on a lot of colors that won't coordinate with SU cardstock, etc. Thank you.

If the number is RV29 for instance...if you go to RV28 it would be a hair lighter...RV27 lighter yet. (not all numbers are actual markers) RV20 is the lightest shade of that color...RV19 would be the darkest of the next color with less gray.
The best source of Copic info is the ilikemarkers blog...she explains everything much better and in greater detail than I can! That's where I got 99% of my info anyway!

I found this from Ellen Hutson.
Copic Marker / SU
Many of these seem to follow the pattern of being a shade lighter than the ones mentioned in the previous post. Some are altogether different.
Hope this helps! I just received 24 from Oozak today and plan on adding singles that coordinate with SU cardstock. Yeah!

I only have the Red Riding Hood ribbon and in my opinion R29-Lipstick Red is a close match out of the Copics I have. HTH!

Wow Cher! That was a lot of work to match all those colors. Thanks so much for sharing your list.
I copied it into a Word file for my personal use with your blog name and link so if I ever share it with a friend in the future, you will be sure to be credited.
I hope that's OK with you.

Just my opinions on the above list, for those who are looking...these are not exact matches. They may be close, but for me some are a different color family even! This was done on WW and GP white...
Not Quite Navy is greener than B97
Bordering Blue is a lot grayer than B91
Basic Gray is CLOSE to C7 but not exact (it's a little warmer, C7 is bluer)
Purely Pomegranate is quite a bit more pink (and prettier) thank R59
Pink Pirouette is quite a bit "warmer" than RV00 (which leans towards a bluish red); they are both light so it works but it's not the same color at all, to me
Cher suggested Kiwi Kiss = YG95 over YG03 and I tried that, it's dead on!
HTH those who are OCD about the matching

It does make a HUGE difference on which paper you color on. On GP I find that many of the colors are too gray or too blue...and on WW I find many are yellowed or lighter because it smears rather than soaks.
There should be a list depending on which paper you use...I am working on matches on GinaK paper, as my PTI paper matches are off on many of those when I try them on GinaK. :(

I agree, but I did find that these colors I listed, were quite different from the SU colors on BOTH papers (WW and GP), so I think it's more than the paper. Although there could be a paper which makes them work, I guess?

It's not working...they look worse on there...LOL
And yeah R39 is a better match for Purely Pom.
N2 over B91 will match Bordering Blue perfectly.
B39 over B95 is a lot closer on the Navy.
And R00 over RV00 is probably more of what you need with your paper...but that one I am leaving since it's near perfect on the PTI. Same with C7...for me it turns out just right.
But those other 3...I might add to my blog...unfortunately when I did the list I only had about 70 markers and took everyone else's opinion on the colors I didn't have. They are close...and still as single markers all but the R59 are closest by themselves.
Thanks for mentioning this...I will change the one and add about the layers to a few on my blog list for those who want it closer.

ooh, that helps...you are sooo good with the layering/blending! I'll have to try those (except I don't have R39 or B39 but maybe I can get close at least)...Thanks!
I figured they were the "closest" match, but thought it was worth mentioning that they weren't dead on, even so, just so no one is surprised ;)
Someone was still looking for Pacific Point...I have B06 and it's very very close to the paper (don't have the ink). I see you have B29, I don't have that one darn it!
Really, even the SU colors have some variation too--my Bashful Blue ink is QUITE darker and more violet than the paper, so I am sure the Copics listed are at least as close as SU gets them sometimes!
PS that cat in the laundry card is awesome!

new colors
does anyone know of a copic SU match chart that is in an excel spreadsheet so that I could sort by copic color number to get similar numbers close together?
Also, Here is a link that has all new, current, and retired colors. Look in the left column for the chart

I coordinated my collection with SU colors. There's a picture of my colored in chart in the BST thread because I need to sell off my collection...sadly.

Ditto to eyestitch and wdwlover. I am also looking for a comparison chart of the new SU colors (not just the IN colors but the new color groups as well) as compared to Copic markers.
Thanks in advance.

I was hoping since SU retired both the watercolor pencils and the watercolor crayons that they were going to come out with a line of alcohol markers. No such luck
