Default Does the Stampin Up Color Caddy hold other tyoes of ink pads?

I have now run out of room in my two Organize More units (why I thought they would be sufficient just shows how little I knew when I bought them.)

I might have to buy another one. But I got to wondering if the Color Caddy would work for me. I don't have 48 SU full size inkpads - I have about 20, and I don't plan on buying many more. But I have Adirondack pads, Versamagic pads and Hero Arts Shadow pads sitting in plastic containers or stacked up on the back edge of my table. Would those pads fit in the color caddy?

And if you have one - do you find it takes up a lot of room on your table? I know the dimensions, I just can't picture how big it actually is.

Thanks

I just tried the following: Staz On, Memento, Versamark, Versafine, Encore and TH. All but TH distress ink pads will fit into the Color Caddy, but they will go in deeper than the SU ones if that makes sense? If I used the color caddy for them, I would label the ends of each ink pad. They would only go in by the shorter sides, the wider sides wouldn't fit into the grooves. I'm attaching a picture. I have Memento, Versamark and Versafine in between Marina Mist and More Mustard. I love storing my SU ink pads in the color caddy, but I keep the others in a drawer. It's just easier for me. Hope this helps.

Kathy, that picture completely answers the question, thank you! The pads would be kind of inconvenient to get at because they don't stick out far enough, so not a good solution for me. I have lots of non SU pads.

You say you keep yours in a drawer - what do you keep them in?

Another picture is in order....LOL Not the best picture, but the drawer that is open is where my other ink pads are. These are plastic drawers from Walmart. Two 12x12 on the bottom and an 8 1/2" x 11 on top, which I use the third drawer for the ink pads. They are close to my craft table (which is a kitchen island I bought just for crafting.)

Dust? I didn't see any dust ;-)! (You have to do like me - my tables are white, so you can't see any dust. Therefore it does not exist.)

sigh. The drawer solution is not going to work for me. I am guessing you are using mostly your SU inks, and it is exactly the opposite for me. Here's my main workspace. You can see I have two Organize More units, one for Distress Inks (almost full) and one with some SU inks and some other inks. Plus, if you look, there are two stacks of inks (PTI and Memento) on top of the SU/other ink unit and two small plastic bins full of Hero Arts Shadow Ink in front, plus if you look to the right you can see among the other stuff two stacks of ink (Versamagic and Adirondack dye ink) up against the Distress Ink unit:

I've got about thirty ink pads without homes. I'm looking at the Organize More 60 pad unit (room for growth - but is it enough?). I guess I should just order it. It's actually not much more expensive than the color caddy would have been if I'd ordered it from SU.

You have been really helpful, many thanks. I can cross the color caddy off the list. I've resigned myself to waiting 6 weeks for the Organize More unit. Will go order it and stop dithering.

Yes, I mainly use my SU pads. I thought the storage cubes I have wouldn't work for you when you mentioned having quite a few inks that weren't SU. I rarely use my TH distress inks. I would say the one I use the most that isn't SU is the Black Versafine ink pad. So it's usually on top of the ones in that drawer.

Thanks for closing your eyes to the dust....;)
