Please send prayers for the Philippines. My family is so worried. We have family members that wouldn't even evacuate. Not that there's too many places to go on the islands what with it being typhoon season.

We've been fortunate to hear from most of the family though. But still no word from my mom's little brother.

Yikes Mary - I hope he's okay!

I'm popping in to say I'm in the final testing phases of the Magic Prize Drawing Machine!

Sabrina helped me check yesterday and we found a problem but I think we're 99% there and might be able to start prize drawings tomorrow - YAY!!!

Gosh, it's been so long since I was on this thread it took forever to catch up.
First, prayers and hugs to Gail, Sue, Mary, and and those that need special prayers we aren't aware of.
Then congratulations to ALL of us for participating in HYCCT! Such a wonderful cause and a great way to develop our craft!
Last, special thanks to Queen Lydia and her minions - I'm sure the rest of us have absolutely no idea how much work is involved in pulling this off. You guys are AWESOME!!! And more thanks for lining up such amazing sponsors willing to donate prizes to us just for doing what we love to do. Gotta love that!

PS - Chris, where are you?

Default FINALLY!

My box of 85 cards and 1 altered notebook is on its way to Texas!
I learned A LOT during this project.
The biggest one is, to bag your cards and envelopes as you complete them. duh.
Make that part a step (like uploading to SCS) in the challenge process. Otherwise, it's a tedious, never ending job! LOL!! Whew!!
I highly recommend a "tip's-n-time savers" list to add along with the FAQ list! ...Just a suggestion for future first timers.
I'm already looking forward to next year!

My prayers are with all those affected in the Philippines.

Good idea! I wish I had had this tip before I started, too. Also, I need to remember to add a white liner while making the card. I had a few of them bagged before I remembered I had not done that yet.

Another thing I wish I had known as a first timer was about the queens list. I did not catch on to that until the end. My suggestion is to make a list and add to it as you upload each card so you don't have to do all of them at once.

Here is my tip: I went through my box of envelopes to use up some of my colored envelopes, but some of them were dark brown and red. I cut up some blank white address labels and tucked one into each clear envelope so that the person who uses the card can write a legible address on the envelope for mailing.

I learned my lesson 4 years ago, I used to have to make the inserts on the darker cards for the inside but did it before the mailing plus get the envelopes ready. This year I did it as I finished a card.

This morning I am going to breathe...deep inhale, deep exhale, repeat process as much as needed in the next 2 hours...

Then...have my own party while baking chocolate chip cookies...

Enjoy surfing SCS in between pans...

Would like to stamp thankful cards this afternoon/evening...

Hey ladies! BIG hugs and prayers going out to Sue, Gail, Mary, and everyone else who needs them!

My tip is include the keyword in your upload title. It makes it a lot easier come Queen time to make sure you have all your cards.

I'm mailing my cards Friday. I still have to add white liners and dig up crazy envelopes for a few of them. At least they don't have far to go!

Someone mentioned this tip in DTGD so I followed it for this challenge and it worked well. My tips are to include the keyword in the title, take several pictures to make sure you will get a good one, copy and paste the links into Word as you go, put the envie with the card and into the clear bags right away and store in a brand new photo box that you can use to mail them all! It also helped me so much to get each one day each day so I didn't have to rush to try to catch up. No stress then. There was a day or two where that was not easy as I was busy, but all in all, I learned a lot from DTGD!

Ditto to what Lydia said about keywords in the title - very helpful indeed for the hostesses .

I always put my own cards in clear bags, usually with an envelope, when I've made them, so that's a regular part of the process for me. I've learned the hard way that it's easier (and safer) to do that than let a pile build up. For my own use, though, I don't seal the clear bags and then I just re-use them time and again. But it keeps my own cards clean and dust-free .

Cyber-hugs to all those going through anxious times just now.

What - the prize thread is open!! How did I miss that!

BCRibbon And They're Off!!

I finally got my cards out today. I was cleaning up my stamp area and decided to make 3 more notebooks with the bits and pieces of ideas that did not pan out. I also found a stash of cards with glitter on them that could not go to OWH so into the box they went! I finally had to stop myself from doing any more cards, seal up the box, and head off to the post office!

Here is a pic of one of the final notebooks. Too late to post it in the gallery but I think it was my fav.
