Question Uses for tags?

I'm wondering what you guys use your finished tags on. I'm talking the bigger tags like Tim Holtz does. I've thought about using them on scrapbook pages, but I'm not sure how to incorporate them. They are little works of art and I really want to use them on something. I'd really appreciate any ideas!

I buy plain or colored Kraft bags for gifts and will attach a large tag to the bag for the decoration. I usually write the to, from underneath the tag on the bag so the recipient can use the tag again if she wants to.

One blogger I was following for a while did a montage of all of her tags on a wall in her scrap room - decoration and inspiration in one! I've considered doing a grouping of clipboards (several different sizes) on a wall in my room, so I could swap out different "art" pieces as desired. They'd also make a great banner if you strung them all together with ribbon or twine.

I've seen them inside old sewing machine drawers like a lumpy mini album if you will where you can just flip through them and pick them up one at a time if you wanted.
( I'm not into dusting however) so, I tie them on packages and make new ones...

Default tags

I put them on gift packages for people, on cards, for decoration on boxes, clipboards etc. I make tags with pictures of family members for people that I tailor to the person who may not be with us anymore (made one for each of my in-laws of their mom when she passed for instance with her wedding pic and stuff unique to her..) They can go in shadowboxes too.

I have made little tag journals using an embellished tag for the cover and a plain tag on the back. Then I cut several blank tag shaped cardstock pages and tie them all together through the holes at the top. You can decorate the cardstock pages or not - your choice. They are really cute and the small size fits in a purse.

I like how this was done! Love the tags as well! I really don't want to use mine on gifts as the people I give presents to will only throw them away (with the exception of my own children and hubby).

Do you have a picture of this? Sounds like something I'd like to try, but can't quite wrap my tired mind totally around it.

I've often wondered how many recipients of the beautifully done tags and cards actually keep them. I like the tag book idea.

Thanks KoffeeKat for sharing my link here.

I give tags like I would give a card. I tie two together thru the hole and write on the back tag. Or I just write on the back if they are mass produced at Christmas time.

I like to make tags as decor/art items in their own right. Christmas themed tags look great decorating a tree. Another idea I use for display is an old bicycle wheel rim ($1). I give it a good clean, spray paint ($5) it and have it propped up in a recipe book stand or easle ($5-10). I used pretty mini bulldog clips ($3) to attach the tags to the spokes.

Couldn't they also be used as ATC's at stamping events?

Christi,
I do not have a picture of one but here's how they are assembled -

Front and back are shipping tags (2" x 4" or similar size) decorate/embellish the front tag any way you like

Make as many insige tag pages as you want out of cardstock. Since the shipping tags have slanted corners, I use a tag corner punch to make the inside pages the same dimensions as the front and back tags. You may decorate the inside pages or leave them blank.

Tie them all together with twine, ribbon, fibers, etc. lining up the holes (you will need to punch holes through the inside pages to line up with the holes in the shipping tags). That's it. You will then have a little pocket/purse size journal.

Feel free to pm me if you need more details. I am not adept at posting pictures on SCS but will by happy to answer questions.

I love this! I usually send them just like a card---sometimes as is, other times as the focal point of a card.

I've adhered them on card fronts, tied them to gifts, bound together as booklets and made cards with pockets so the tags can be removable. I also have a small tin (think flavored coffee) that I've put some of my favs in just for me to enjoy and look at for inspiration or as a reminder of various techniques.

I also have a clear plastic pocket wall hanging thing that has tags and other stamp stuff I've made. Those I get to enjoy until they get used on a card or something. And before anyone asks the pockets are CD size and I got it forever ago on clearance so have no idea where you'd get one now sorry.

I used them one year as gift tags/Christmas cards, then they could be hung on the tree.

If the tag doesn't have bumpy embellishments, it can be used as a bookmark. Just add a longer ribbon so it will stick out of the top of book.

If you're giving a book to someone, include a tag bookmark. :p
