Challenge Title: For Kid's Sake
Hostess: stamp_momma (Lori)
Keyword: HYCCT1201B
Date: Monday, October 1st, 2012
Thank you for helping us with our third annual Hope You Can Cling To Challenge! I am SO excited to have you here, and so grateful for your participation in this inspiring event!
Cancer is such an ugly word, and unfortunately there is no minimum age for being affected. We are all familiar with situations where a young child is either thrust into a scary situation full of doctors and strange hospital rooms or they are thrown into odd routines under the care of loved ones while mom or dad fights for recovery.
My challenge to you: Make a card or two for the kiddos! These could be for a child who is called to stand strong much to early by fighting or a child that needs a little extra lovin' while mom or dad focuses on getting well.
My kiddo-appreciated stamp stash is somewhat limited, so in case you are like me, I've attached two cute digi stamp sets with sentiments (one for a boy and one for a girl) and files with just the digi image created just for this challenge. The images were drawn by the talented ever-talented ilikemarkers, or you can certainly choose to use stamps from your own stash. Just make sure it's all about the kids.

you are so right about the no minimum age requirement....great challenge....this one may take awhile for me....not used to doing cards for kids...gonna go get my thinking cap on
Adorable digis!!! I am gonna have to think about this one, as I don't make kiddie cards.... Methinks the clean and simple approach would be best for this one.... :-)
Yup, this is a true "challenge" for me also as I always struggle with kids cards. But you've given us some great inspiration and I'm sure the gallery will be full of cute cards.
I'm off to run errands now, but will be back in a few hours.
Thanks for thinking about it, ladies! I don't do a lot of kid's cards either, but we've been close to some tragic situations, so it's special to me for Hope You Can Cling To.
I loved doing the challenge, though. The digi images made it pretty easy for me, and I agree with Holly...Looking through your own stamps to decide, clean and simple is a great plan for this one.
This is truely a fantastic group of people. The fact that someone drew these digis for us to use is just another testement to the how wonderful you all are. I have some kid friendly stamps, but will be using both of the digi's. They totally rock as do all of you that are participating.
Thanks everyone,
Sharon

I had to dig deep for this one. I finally found something usable at the bottom of my school teacher stamp drawer which I hadn't opened since retiring several years ago.

me either, Sheri-- back down to the stamp room I go!
I am *loving* the cards you all have shared so far this afternoon! Thank you so much for helping us kick off Day 1. I'm going to make the school-run and pick up my own kiddos, but then I'll be back to leave some gallery love for all of the ladies! Thank you! Thank you!
Oh boy.....so not in my comfort zone at all....I'm not around little ones much anymore...I think these are bright and fun but please; if anyone feels they aren't appropriate, let me know and I'll redo...I will not be offended....

Lori, this was a tough challenge for me. I wanted to use one of the digis or one from my files, but couldn't get my mind around what to make with them. So I decided to go with some cute punch art instead.
