Hugs to your family, Jen.
I admire your attitude - you are right, it sounds as though your baby was able to make the most of the bonus time. I hope my babies make it to 16. My Sophie, who is my soulmate dog, is 9 now. She is my heart. Her goofy younger brother, Vinny,is 4 -- and he is such a goof ball he makes us laugh every day!
Our furbabies truly enhance our lives...

I don't know why but I never thought of cards through the year... **slaps forehead**

I will be sending off throughout the year from my DT Cards also. I donate a LARGE basket every year for the Cops 4 Kids auction here at work. I was reigning champion 3 years in row until last year a LATCH HOOK RUG beat me... WHAT??? lol I remember latch hook from 7th grade...

SO, after I get that basket done I will start collecting and as a box fills I will ship it off... How awesome is that!!!!

I've long thought that "Sophie" would be a great name for a lady dog! Apparently I was right!

I have 2 senior kitties, a.k.a. furr babies rooted in my heart. Symphony turned 19 years old in October, while her nemesis, Sonnet, turned 17 in September.

I finished three of my last four challenges last night. Only the treat box remains. I am not good with 3-D objects but thanks to this week's Inkling, I know just what to do.

I love Symphony & Sonnet - great names! Very dignified!!

funny story about my dogs' names. My husband is Irish and I'm Italian. My human kids are named Patrick and Bridget -- cause what else can you do with a last name of Doyle - you have to go with Irish names, right? My mother was heartbroken... I think she was hoping for Dominick and Angela -- Dom Doyle just doesn't work!
So my dogs are Sophia and Vincenzo, aka Sophie & Vinny LOL! My mom was not appeased.

Hope to finish my remaining challenges tonight. I know what I want to do even so it will hopefully go quickly. It will probably take me a whole month to put my room to rights.
Oh, big, big hugs! I'm tearing up remembering our dog who passed away almost two years ago now. Thinking of you and your family!

Aww, Jen, I'm so sorry about your dog. How are the kids doing with the loss? That is tough!

Well, my challenges are almost done (and I will finish), but unfortunately Hurricane Sandy has taken out our power (luckily our home is fine). I know we got lucky, there is so much devastation out there. We had to leave the house on Thursday, it was too cold for the kids without heat. And they are saying maybe another 7-10 days for the power to be restored. So I won't get my cards uploaded, but they will be finished and sent!

Think it's also a great idea to send cards through the year. I end up with lots of extras from DT projects and challenges, so that is a great idea! Going to put extras aside and mail once in a while.

Thanks to all of the hostesses, this has been so much fun and really makes you feel good to see all of these cards going to such a good cause!

Yikes, Kathy! Where are you staying? I would find it to be very disruptive to be out of my home for so long. I'm impressed that you are able to keep on with the card making.

The kids are mostly OK with losing Pepper. Charlotte is sad but that's because she's older and I think really gets what it means. Yesterday, Mitchell (he's only 4) said "Oh, I can eat my pizza like a picnic and Pepper won't eat it!" and plopped down on the floor to eat his slice. But they were both sad when they realized we had no one to give our "pizza bones" to. Like most dogs, Pepper was a glutton and especially liked bread. She was not above taking food right out of their hands or off their plates if it happened to be at dog level. I'm going to work on a digital book of photos and stories and that should make everyone feel warm and fuzzy inside. Thanks for asking.

Hi everyone I'm feeling really disapointed, I've only managed to get four done and what ever I manage today, I have a lot of trouble with energy levels because of a form of arthritis I have so sometimes I have good days and some times I don't. This month was particularly bad, all I seemed to be able to do was drag myself to work and back, today will be the first time I've been in the craft room for six days and that is unheared of, however all my problems pale into insignifigance compared to anyone fighting cancer or anyone that was cought up in your horrendous storm I hope everyone was safe and didn't loose anything, it was on our news for days.

This was the first time I even looked at HYCCT so with luck I will be better prepared next time.

Well I'm off to get a couple more cards done before the final curtain.

Cheers

3202-- Just check the hycct gallery. It'll tell you at the top. There's still four more days, and 300 is doable, considering how many prolific crafters hang out here.

WHEW!!!!!!!! I am finished!!! I started late (didn't know about this) but I have finally finished. I can't believe it.

The only thing I have to do is add the envie and plastic bag and ship them all out on Monday.

I want to say THANK YOU, to all the hostesses that made the challenges, they were great!!!!

I also want to say THANK YOU to all the ladies that have left comments on my cards. I am going to work on posting comments tomorrow or Monday..

This was absolutely wonderful and I hope all these cards everyone made brings so many smiles and lightens a lot of hearts. I know what I will be doing next year at the beginning of October if you ladies have this again.

Hugs!

This was the first time I even looked at HYCCT so with luck I will be better prepared next time.

Well I'm off to get a couple more cards done before the final curtain.

Cheers
(((big hugs))) It's tough when you aren't feeling well! It's quite an accomplishment getting yourself to work when you feel that rough!!! Last year was my first HYCCT and I made just 4. This year I was able to make 16 and at least one more will be posted on Monday. Next year hopefully you will feel better and will be able to make more!!!

Marg! NO BEATING YOURSELF UP over something you simply can not control!

I had surgery on Oct 5 on my neck -making stamping a little difficult LOL! I managed to get 14 done. Last year, however, I did them all (and was BLESSED enough win a big prize for which I am thankful each day). I can't be disappointed -- I had no choice --- and neither did you.
I think it's great that you participated.
Now go be nice to yourself

My dh and I love to go to the movies. Love it! But this summer was like a good movie drought. I don't think we went all summer.
We made up for it this weekend. Friday night we saw Flight - AWESOME!!

edited to say this post went all by itself -- the complete post follows.

I thought I was going to have a night to myself last night, but I got taken to Wreck-It Ralph with the littles, my DH and some friends. I was pleasantly surprised to find it really fun. Today was house and garden day so I didn't get inky today either, but got to go out on a date night with my hubby so it is all good!
