By the way, congratulations on your upcoming retirement, Lois. May you enjoy every day of it. I loved it when I was gainfully unemployed, but now we need the money.
Did you ever see the movie "The DaVinci Code"? Ian McKellan's character asked Tom Hanks' character, "What goes in Earl Grey tea, milk or lemon?" (It was a test.) And the answer was, "Lemon." So your mom was probably technically correct. But that doesn't stop me from putting milk in it.

Just popping in with a mouth full of cranberry salsa to say thank you to Michelle for sharing the recipe. It is delicious!

I'm looking forward to it. Over many years, I cross-stitched stockings for each of my children (and later, their spouses), my husband and myself, and five of my grandchildren. I haven't cross-stitched in a long time. I actually have several unfinished projects in a closet! They'll probably never get finished.

I don't have one of those full time prince charming types, LOL, but he is a keeper.

But he totally knocked my socks off when I discovered he has a wonderful gift of doing my clothes shopping I hate clothes shopping so he scouts out an outfit, tells me where it is and I go and make the final decision. He even once bought me home a pair of jeans that are THE best jeans I've ever had fit. He also does grocery shopping. Gotta love that too! But ask him to help me out with a chore though is like pulling teeth.

Happy BD for your DD! Hope you all have (had) a lovely time together.

happy birthday to your daughter, Lee!
I never took to coffee, I have to make it very light, as my mother would say, "why don't you have a little coffee with your milk?"
My father introduced me to putting milk in my cocoa cola. I cracked up to see Shirley doing it on Laverne and Shirley and shocked that people thought it was gross.

I can't follow this threrad as you are all chatting while I'm sleeping, lol. But I did read a post by jennifer (I think) telling us about her family tradition of cutting the Christmas tree together. Loved that story! I don't think I have any tradition apart from actually erecting something that resembles a tree LOL.

I have many UFOs of every craft variety in my closet. I let a lot of them go when I moved but somethings I kept, like quilt tops. I kept the floss and some of the patterns for x stitch but probably won't pick it up. I don't think I have enough patience anymore.

And my kids grew up stealling sips from my coffee, which is strong, white and no sugar. First time I offered her her own cup I asked how many sugars, thinking she was just a beginner, lol. She said, just like yours mum!

I've put vanilla ice cream in ginger ale, and liked it. I've probably put milk in it too. I like milk in soda, kind of like an ice cream soda that you'd get at a fountain. If that doesn't make sense then it's all NJ talk. I know you call soda pop in the mid west, do you have such a thing as a ice cream pop. It's like a milk shake but it isn't mixed up, with soda instead of milk.

That's a float! I think it's the same thing anyway.

LOL That was Laverne putting milk in her Pepsi on Laverne and Shirley! LOL They added that in to the show because the actress, Penny Marshall, does that in real life. Yeah, I bought her book (autobiography) and read it in a weekend. Love Laverne and Shirley - bought the first 4 seasons on DVD and watched them all.

I'm not a "hot" drink person. Gimme ice water, ice tea (plain - no sugar, no lemon, no milk!), cold chocolate milk, or icy cold Coke and I'm good. The only thing hot I might drink on a really cold, cold, cold day (which is rare in these parts) is hot chocolate. That's it.

Dad used to make Coke floats when I was a kid. Plop some scoops of vanilla ice cream in a glass, cover it with Coke, and watch it fizz up. Use a straw to drink it all up. I haven't had this since I was ummmmmmm 8?? LOL!

Never did like root beer, but root beer floats were the big thing when I was a kid. Everyone used to drink these except me.

Texans say Coke for everything too. Want a Coke? Yep. What kind? Dr. Pepper.

That's it.
OMG!!!!! LOVE that show!! I also bought Seasons 1 and 2......that show was on when I was a kid!!!

I have a couple of unfinished quilting projects too. I do have a really nice fan quilt top that a lady decided she didn't want me to go through with finishing the whole quilt. I thought that was wrong.

I've managed to finish all my quilted tote bags for people, some as gifts & some were sold through FB. Do any of you like carrying quilted tote bags? Just curious?
