After checking out several brands of cardstock I have started buying the Gina K brand and I just love it. It is such a nice heavy weight that is great for card bases and I love the colors. I think it's a better weight than the SU and CTMH cardstock. I am probably going to stock up on all the colors. Check it out if you are looking for cardstock; there are sampler packs you can try out.
A very happy customer.
I love her card stock as well. Just got a large order on Saturday. The white and black I use so much of. I started adding colors and love them. Great customer service too!
I agree Gina K cardstock is the best! My inks are all SU though and I like to match so I've been using theirs even though I don't like it nearly as much.
Yes, I ordered G.K. awhile ago, because I wanted a sturdier white card base and also vanilla. While I like SU colored cardstock I felt the white and vanilla were not good for a card base (not strong enough). I did buy some other G.K. colors as well, but haven't used those yet. (I do have a lot of SU colors)
I was VERY happy with Gina's service and quality of cardstock....
I'm on a "cardstock moratorium" now, until I use up some of my stash, but Gina Ks is what I will order next for cardstock. It sounds great and I know many people on SCS rave about her customer service. :-)
Thanks, Karen, for the update. I've been waiting to hear. I appreciate it and think I'll give them a try.
I had always heard/read good things about the Hero Arts ink, but just recently read a few not happy with them. I bought two barely used Shadow Inks to try, but I'm leaning more and more to the Gina K. Haven't had a chance to try them yet ( the Hero Arts that I got.) Hope to soon!
has anyone compared Gina K's white with Papertrey Inks white card stock? Are they similar in weight?
The Gina K. 120 lb. base weight is comparable in weight to the Papertrey Ink cardstock. Both are extremely sturdy and make excellent card bases. Both work well when coloring with Copic markers.
However, the PTI cardstock has a grayish tint to it; the Gina K. is a noticeably brighter white. I also feel that the PTI isn't quite as smooth as the Gina K.
I have had trouble finding a good heavy black cardstock for years. I think the last good black paper I got was from PTI. So based on the discussion in this thread I placed an order today for Gina K's heavy black cardstock. I've heard lots of good things about Gina K's pure luxury for a long time now, so I'm excited to get some and check it out. I also got some heavy weight in Ivory and a few colors in layering weight. Thanks for the good info in the thread.
