Challenge Title: Encircled with Love
Hostess: Beate
Keyword: HYCCT1101C
Date: Saturday, October 1st, 2011

Everyone knows someone that battles or has battled breast cancer. While we can't do much about that yet, we can help friends and family members by encircling them with our love and support. So in that spirit, let's make a circle card.

How did I ever end up with two pads of BG Euphoria,. This month should be an opportunity to use some up, starting with this Circle Note.

I think this is the first round card I've ever made. How do people make them so their not flat on top? I'm concerned mine looks kind of silly (with the flat top... the rest is good. :D )

Here is mine. I'm not in the fan club, so if you can't see it yet, it hasn't been approved. :)

It's adorable!!

If you don't like a flat top, just die cut a second circle and pop it on top. Then you would only see that hinge from the back :)

Jen...I do the round (or any other curvy shape) by cutting two identical pieces then scoring the back one just a bit down from the top. Then I glue that little bit to the front. Then I don't have a full double front and I don't have the fight to cut double layers with my nesties, or get a perfect lineup with the die.

Well now, THAT makes sense!! Oh well, next time I guess I'll have to try that. For now, my round card has a flat top. Here's my card... Simply Amazing

Yes, circle cards are tricky. This was a real challenge for me, but I met it!

Here is my Special in the round card.

Sure wish I could keep up with these challenges all month, but I know I won't be able to. I'll enjoy looking at all the lovely cards in the gallery though.

This challenge was a little tougher for me. Rather than try to figure out how to cut a hinged circle I hinged my card with a brad. Here's a picture of it hinged open to show the stamping on the inside:

I used the largest scallop nestie, then made a card stock 'easel' for it using the largest plain circle.

Love the shaped cards and need to do more! Thanks for the inspiration Beate! Here is mine:

With the size of the stamp I decided to use for mine, it's only a one-layer card, but it was fun to color anyway!
