My husband saw a bag of peanuts that I had on the counter this morning and asked if I was eating them (he knows that I don't like them). I told him I fed the squirrel but he scoffed and said I need to give him unsalted peanuts. I figured if the squirrel doesn't like salted peanuts he doesn't have to eat them. This is a smart squirrel...he can decide whether or not he likes salty peanuts. A month or so ago Hurricane Irene blew through and I saw him pulling a plastic grocery bag up the tree to his nest; he used it to make a cover/roof and extra insulation. It's still there!

I'll remember that next yr. I would like them fine if they would quit stealing my fruit off the trees and eating only half of them and wasting the rest....trying to figure out a way to block their path down the top of the privacy fence....maybe if I rig up a feed station at the back before they get to fruit....keep them fed back there....hmmmm it's worth a try

HA!! I've seen them eat french fries at the park so it's probably fine. I know they love hard candy. #dontask

Ok got it ! I have been so busy this last month or so I didn't even look at the challenge because I knew I couldn't participate. I have been working on finding my mom an assisted living facility and smack dab in the middle of all of this stress my Mother in Law decides she will up and move, so I have been helping her pack and unpack too.
I wish all the participants great luck it must have been a fun month.

The way squirrels manage to get into every birdfeeder leads me to believe they have some sort of college degree. That sure are clever.
